Well, pick any. There are places like Democracy for America, a group I consider one of the best progressive groups around, run by Howard Dean. There’s MoveOn.org, they ignored the economy issue for the last two years, but now seem to have awakened to what’s going on—http://pol.moveon.org/taxdealproblems/
I don’t think they have a forum on site, but they, along with most of these groups, have Facebook pages where you can comment.
Sometimes these forums don’t really reflect what an organization is actually doing in its local meetings and national policy; like here, there are often many angry posters who just want to rave on.

Probably the most important ones are those “insider” political sites that get read by those in DC, as well as the general public. Donny Shaw mentioned trying to create a “blogswarm” the other day. He might be a good one to ask what in his opinion are the best forums (or comments sections, or letters to editors) to tackle on this issue.
I gotta go, if I think of any more in particular I’ll post later on.

Actually those are good people to get involved because then tend to lean conservative but not Republican, and are real interested in bad news.

Hopefully Orrin Hatch is reading the local, Capitol Hill news. Last week, he became one of the growing numbers of congresspeople who showed his vast ignorance on the topic of unemployment insurance.

Orrin Hatch said this week that extended unemployment insurance “is well over 100 weeks now,” making him the latest millionaire member of Congress to publicly demonstrate that he does not understand the unemployment legislation he obstructs…. talked with barbara lees aide just now she said that hr6556 may hit the floor as early as today…and also said everyone should call their own senators and reps to show support and to get word out to as many supporters as possible…would also be good to contact polosi to recommend that she attach hr6556 to the government spending bill….

I read an article that this bill must be announced today as I believe this is the last day Congress is working before starting to shut down for the Holidays unless someone has heard otherwise.
I head a few different times. I’m not sure if there is a set one yet.

HR6556 is Dead: 99ers “Scrooged” AGAIN!
According to the staffers at Rep Bobby Scott’s office, HR6556 is NOT coming out of committee. With HR6556 now dead, seems the 99ers are Scrooged yet AGAIN.

they did the same thing right before thanks giving with 3706, they do this just so people will not bug them during their vacation. They do not want people protesting in front of their houses on Christmas. We would have been protesting in front of their homes on thanksgiving had 3706 not been introduced, can they fool us twice?

This leaves very little time to follow the House procedures for a bill, where it would need to be referred to the House and Ways committee for consideration. If by some miracle it managed to pass the committee (over 90% of bills introduced fail), the House rules require the bill stand for 2 days between the time it comes to floor and the time a debate and vote is taken on it. Nancy could force the issue and refuse to fund the government 6556 is not attached. It is all up to nancy pelosi at this point.
I think the GOP wouldn’t mind the failure to fund the government, Im curious is the black caucus a bipartisan group?
on their bylaws they are bipartisan but they will not allow republicans or white people to join, they act as a lobby group withing the democratic party.

that is why when i heard people praising the writers of this i told them it was all a stunt. gullible people everywhere. why not do this extension 11 months ago? seriously think the democrats or black caucus is going to draft a 99er rescue bill 3 days before christmas? BS! i called it and it was BS. everyone should be calling their office saying they got played. oh well. we got nothing to lose with the new congress. obama ried pelosi failed america. they are bad for america. they are bad for 99ers. does anyone doubt it now?
99er unemployment benefits legislation, H.R. 6556, passage unlikely
The latest legislative effort to move forward 99er unemployment legislation, H.R. 6556, appears to be at a crossroads. On background, a congressional staffer indicated that Rep. Bobby Scott and rep. Barbara Lee were hoping that their bill would be taken out of committee and voted on before the end of this current congressional session. Unfortunately, while the issue was raised with leadership, there is no guarantee that this legislation will be taken out of committee and moved forward before Congress adjourns for the year.
