The following was posted in the comment section of an article written by Michael Colliss titled “H.R.6556-Latest Attempt to Expand Unemployment-Serious Attempt or Cynical Ploy” at ALLNEWS247.com by a poster known to me only as Jerry. I do not know Jerry personally but I presume by his comments he is a 99er and in his comments he asked everyone reading his comments to “Copy and paste this to every blog and unemployment advocacy organization you can!”.

that is why when i heard people praising the writers of this i told them it was all a stunt. gullible people everywhere. why not do this extension 11 months ago? seriously think the democrats or black caucus is going to draft a 99er rescue bill 3 days before christmas? BS! i called it and it was BS. everyone should be calling their office saying they got played. oh well. we got nothing to lose with the new congress. obama ried pelosi failed america. they are bad for america. they are bad for 99ers. does anyone doubt it now?

Nancy could force the issue and refuse to fund the government 6556 is not attached. It is all up to nancy pelosi at this point.

I think there’s some missing logic in that line of arithmetic he presents, but other than that, right on! Personally, I’ve started to pay more attention to other forums that are not for the purpose of organizing the unemployed, because all this preaching to the choir for two years may be good for solidarity (even considering the sniping on these forums), but it does little to really get the information out to those who might be sympathetic but are otherwise uninformed.

I visited a progressive forum a few days ago and posted some stuff and got attacked right away for criticizing anything Obama did, even though I presented my “Obama support credentials” pretty thoroughly I think. The problem I found is that some, not all, of these liberal people who supported this tax cut deal so fervently didn’t even know what was actually in the bill! They ignored the lack of help for the unemployed as a whole, or didn’t realize the difference, and seemed to think that this bill gave funds to Medicaid (it doesn’t!) and that it would help small businesses by cutting down on the SS payroll taxes (the cut is only for the employee’s share!), and stuff like that.

And then we have Hatch on the other side of the spectrum. This country really needs an education.

This comment will make my sheet as a possible action item for the 112"TH. As a moderate democrat, I do not understand the Democratic Party’s insistence that ALL unemployment extensions be emergency spending just because that’s the way it’s always been done before! Perhaps relief for the 99ers must be done differently – that to get relief it will have to be paid for as you suggest.

Taking this position going forward is no free-be. We will be challenged with answering the question “What cuts are we willing to take to make these funds available.” I ask everyone here to consider the biggest hurdle that we face, and that hurdle is this:

We are looking for a political solution to a socioeconomic problem! We must always keep in mind that without a political solution, no legislation will be passed that favors us. How do we get into their heads and create a win-win for the politicians while serving the best interests of the 99ers?

We’ll let me introduce myself – I’m a 99er in Michigan. First there was Stabenow, now Lee with bills that are supposed to help us. How long has this been going on – well for a while now. I really dont think they(congress) are going to take any more steps towards helping us. You see the fight is diminishing, less people are talking about this, and that is exactly what they want. Introduce, then do nothing. Three used to be alot of people on You Tube stating their case, now its all old posts. They want us to give up!!

I am so damn sick and tired of listening to the Republicans spewing all their “job killing” BS about the health care bill, and wasting lots of time and money trying to repeal it when they know it is impossible to do so. So far I have seen nothing from them to actually try to help the tens of millions of unemployed in any way. They got their big tax breaks for the rich, that they insisted would create jobs even though they did not for ten years, and now tie up congress just to put on a show, while lying through their teeth about the reason.

I am no fan of being forced to buy health care, but that will not even take affect until 2014. That is a lifetime away for the 99ers.

Neither party seems to be concerned in the least about the very real disaster unfolding of millions and millions of Americans being left with no way to support themselves, and ending up homeless on the streets.
