2/3/2009--Introduced.Mercury Emissions Reduction Act - Declares that this Act's purpose is to require the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to promulgate a rule that requires mercury emissions from electric utility steam generating units to be subject to Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards under the Clean Air Act for hazardous air pollutants. Amends the Clean Air Act to require the Administrator to promulgate standards for mercury emissions from electric utility steam generating units.
