This seems to be a dangerous line, and mars an otherwise good idea. If the people in the science community have learned anything, it’s that Congress should never direct scientific research.

How about not?
However you feel about stem cell research, I think we can all agree that the federal government shouldn’t be paying for it with our tax dollars.
