I urge anyone to contact your Senator or Representative about this bill. If it does not pass, I will not be able to receive local channels. I live in an area where we will not be able to receive the digital systems, even with converter box. At this time, we do have DISH satellite systems however, cannot get local channels. I will not be able to receive local news or weather alerts. Please, please pass this bill.

I was not aware that the US Constitution guaranteed the “right” to watch TV! Furthermore, what “right” does anyone have to force the provider of satellite services to do this at no cost? Each new station carried on a satellite requires the use of expensive transponder capacity. Who will compensate DISH and DirecTV? Oh, wait. They will just pass the cost along to me!

SignOfTheDollar – Isn’t TV in the penumbra of the Constitution somewhere? Besides, I am more than willing to pay more for local channels.
