There is good reason our forefathers wanted a separation of Church and State, and this is still a good rule of thumb. These men were much smarter than the people we have in the Senate and House today and knew these subjects should remain separate since if you ask 10 people you would get 10 different answers about politics and religion. Keep them separate. They to have a fraction of the good sense our Nations founders had and maybe we can get out of this mess you’re making of this Country.
I agree, keep them separate. We are still shedding blood over the name of “God”. To each their own. Goverment, “STAY OUT OF IT!”
Three words: waste o’ time.
I agree that 2010 should be the year of the bible. The foundation of this nation has been built upon following religious values in bringing order to our society. We have spent a lot of time taking those values away by eliminating God publicly and in my view this society has gotten worse. It has been the Government that agreed to allow this to happen and it should be the government to allow us the freedom to recognize it again. We have recognized everything else but our right to recognize the Bible. It is hard to separate Church and State when some of our laws today are scripturally based. It is the State that rely on our Churches to help in the community. So let’s give recognition 2010, the year of the Bible.
