    While China may have some right to claim Taiwan, when has the protection the US has provided since the end of WWII ceased? Please inform me. I would not like to see the democracy it has fought so hard to establish be eliminated in a manner similar to Hong Kong. The US must not be bullied by China into conceding control over Taiwan to it.
    If diplomatic recognition is not supported, then protection must be re-affirmed.
