This seems like a good way to curb spending, stop borrowing money from other countries, and pay down the debt.
Hey, imagine that! The check book says we have no more money? STOP WRITING CHECKS!!!!!!!!!!! I FULLY SUPPORT THIS AMENDMENT AND WILL CAMPAIGN FOR IT’S IMPLEMENTATION!
I’m all for balancing the budget. I just don’t think mucking around with the constitution and putting another super-majority clause in the legislative process is the way to do it.
How about our elected officials act like adults and actually do something responsible like being accountable for how they do their jobs, spend the money they’re alloted to spend wisely and behave in a manner that would show respect to the job they’ve been elected to do by the people of the US?
Now that would be different.
If they’re not willing to do the right thing with what they have been entrusted with then don’t expect a law to change that attitude. There will be excuses made to enable their waste and bad government ways.

No, No, NO, If this becomes an amendment that would just give congress the authority to tax the peoples according to the proposed budget. It wouldn’t stop them from spending. We would be taxed at 99.9% and we would be obligated constitutionaly to pay it.
I propose congress be LIMITED to spending on only things that the constitution currently permits them to spend on. It really does not allow them to be spending on welfare programs, healthcare, foreign aide, etc… Our country could be rich again if they would just stick to what our founders gave them power to do.
