I believe one Friday in November is not sufficient time for the children to learn about our Great American Heritage. Why not the Month of November. Since we as Americans are all considered equals, why not give the American Indians the same amount of classroom time as Black History Month.

I totally agree … isnt black history month every signal month ?

My only problem with this is I am as much a native American as anyone, yet my culture is looked down upon because of the actions of people I have no connection to, for the actions I do not endorse or condone. If I should say to someone that there should be a celebration of the achievments of white people, I would be labeled a racist. CELEBRATING THE DIVERSITY OF SOME, BUT NOT ALL, IS RACIST IN ITSELF!

would you like some cheese with that whine ?

On the other hand, why not have a month to celebrate a white history month as well as Native American history month. I mean you already have a Black history month. Is it not racist too only have a black history month and exclude White and Native Americans?

yes it is racists when only black history month is celebrated. I think all races and cultures should be celebrated, since this country is a melting pot of all different kinds of races and cultures. this country is not black america..

it is UNITED STATES OF AMERICANS

Why not stop celebrating all this and just celebrate America!!! We are all from all tribes and nations…..there is none pure amoung us. WE all came from somewhere else. Yes – the Native Americans are special, but so is everyone else. Let’s STOP ALL RACISM by celebrating people for being people – no matter the color, race, religious beliefs etc.

I will support this, because Native americans were the First people of this country.Their ancestors were the first people who went through genocide in this country and has been subject too many horrible things. The Native americans are honorable people who has lots their land because of the greedy europeans who has stoled from them. The very lands that many people who are voicing their opinions here. I would very much like the Native americans to have a special date on every month.

If this doesnt pass for the Native Americans, then it would be only fair to stop having black history month as well.

remember everyone in this country should be equal…. no special treatments

I can not support this, as a Native American I am disgusted by special interest groups that are trying to turn us into niggers. We do not need hand outs we do not need affirmative action. Do not feel sorry for us!
