I agree, this shouldn't be an amendment, there should be an amendment to limit the amount of term for all federal officials.

No, the problem here is more that without House and Senate term limits, we create career politicians. If a representative is voted out, they can go run for another position elsewhere simply by moving their residence. If we have term limits, it allows us to get fresh representation from ALL parties and prevents 10 term House members.

Please don't forget, they have voted themselves tax free income, and pay no social security tax, and they only have to serve one term to get paid for LIFE!!!
I would like to see mandatory minimum wage for all seats (let them serve not be served), and give the savings as raises to military vets and surviving family who risk their lives for you and I.

I believe that the House should be non-elected picked from the tax payers as you are when you are on a jury. Senators should be elected to no more than 4 (5 year terms). The President should be elected to no more than 2 (4 year terms) and the Vice President should be the person he/she ran against.
Actually if you reverse yourself on the house and senate you will be pretty much inline with the constitution as originally signed before the 17th Amendment. By and large I disagree with term limits. After all, this is still America and we should be free to pursue any career we want. Term limits should occur at the ballot box.

I completely agree and am willing to put a number on it. $7,200 a year. That is how much the Texas State Congress makes. Oklahoma has enacted term limits of 12 years and according to the governor, The state is doing much better than it had previously.
My thoughts exactly...every representative should have to operate within the income levels of those they represent
One Term only for all of them - like for President- The Congress and the Senate - a third Party and less pay - That is what we need - The way it is right now - the believe we work for them - the have gorgotten that the Work for us and we placed them there to do the Job right !
I agree one term for senators and congress and less pay, but I do think the president should have two terms as it does take more time to see their results.

But, we all know those kind of politicians are few and far between! lets see if HR1207 gets through the senate and then we'll know for sure who is really looking out for us! Kep track of your Senators and make sure you know how they voted on 1207 and if they vote against, then vote them right outta office!!!!
I feel the same way Limit All members of Congress to specific terms Lower their salaries AND Benfits. WHY? Because Most of these politicans become millionaires While In Office! Pedaling their influences to who? Not those who voted them into office!
I'm agreeing with that. Also, the President should be limited to ONE(1), count it ONE(1) 6 year term. Congressman and Senators to one 4 year term.
The limits of terms the Congress, Senate, and Whitehouse all serve, should remain in place forever!!! No person, should have the opportunity to die in office. Especially when they reach a certain age and are truthfully no longer to even travel anymore to do their job due to health issues. Strom Thurmond should have been removed from office years before his death considering his own health and inability to travel to Washington to do the job he was unable to properly do. Actually, there need to be more restrictions and limitations put in place. Such as a contract before running for any office to live on the National Poverty level of income with no other funds whatsoever for at least 8 years prior to running for any elected office. Both the person running, and families as well. If they recieve any other funds, they're disqualified from any office, forever.
How to you think that would help stop all the frivalous spending of tax payers money? Most of the elected officials in this country, even down to the local levels, don't know HOW to live on a budget. So passin a law like this, would make all in any level of power learn the value and importance of sticking to a budget, and not let any of them go blow 40 million dollars in pork spending which isn't theirs in the firt place! Why are these politicians not being tried and convicted for stealing money from the US government, which is owned, operated, and FUNDED, by the American Tax Paying Citizens. That's not an open bank account for any of them. No wonder they're trying to get this bill passed! So they, and those like them, can stay there stealing millions and millions more from the American people! I say, not just no, but HELL NO!!!! Place more limitations, not lift what few are in place!
Real Americans would never vote for giving unlimited terms or additional terms to a President - that would destroy our country and make it a dictatorship. The unfortunate thing is that Real Americans are being overwhelmed by the births from illegals and the onslaught of foreign powers attempting to overthrow us with sheer numbers of legal immigrants having children, too. It's terrifying to think that my children and grandchildren will never really know America as it was meant to be by our Founding Fathers.

Kind of like the Kennedy dynasty? You would think that with all that has happened with that family over the years, and with the two that have been in the spot light recently (One is an alcoholic with a brain tumor and the other is a dunce) that they might have gotten the message that God doesn't want them in politics. Too bad they can't stop breeding!
