Israel has the right to defend themselves against Hamas, but they dont have the right to kill innocent women ,children and men who are Palenstein (Muslims,Christians and Jewish people).Their actions are not acceptable to everyone in the world including the UN.

Every country and people have a right to defend themselves against terrorism, however what Israel is doing is not defense. There is not excuse for the wholesale killing of innocents; since when it is not right for a non-state group such as Hamas to kill innocents, but OK for a government? Israel has itself become a terrorist state. Until the apartheid government of Israel has changed and Israel treats the Palestinians with equality, they deserve no support. We must treat them as the world finally treated the apartheid government of South Africa, until they change.

Israel takes all precautions NOT to attack innocents. The problem: Many Palestinian militants use innocents as human shields.

What is going on by Israel is brutal and barberic. We in this country must rise up, and not let our goverment allow nor support this in our name and with our money. We are a people that have historically stood up for justice, maybe sometimes we stood up a bit late, but we have stood up. We need to stop all support for israel and we must divest from this apparthide state that is murdering and killing an entire population. It hurts be to see pictures children bleeding in Gaza, and our congress passing resolutions to support Isreal.

The people of Gaza are under israeli occupation and so it our congress, the senate and the president.

This war has not started in Dec 27, it started since the Palestinians no longer have rights and land. Its saddens me to see Palestinian children have to rely on foreign aid to eat drink and sleap when Israeli children go to water parks to enjoy life. This war is a war of Liberation. Israel should stop acting like Aliens from Mars “We come in peace”. Palestinians have the right to live for Christ’s sake! Congress should stop hiding behind the fear of being called an anti semite. What ever happened to justice? Israel can live if it lets to live.

The only reason Israel is a country is because of the events surrounding the scramble for Africa,Berlin Conference and the construction of the Suez Canal. Greedy British bankers Lionel Walter Rothchild in particular financed the Bar-Giora a Jewish Terrorist group that made illegal bombs and weapons to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing in Palestine. Israel is like any other white european conquest of kill and steal politics. White people in the middle of the desert inventing a new and false way of identifying themselves as Jews as a race is incorrect. Jew is a decription of a religious practice not a race. White people in the middle of the desert of arabs claiming Israel as their ancestoral homeland are out of their minds. But as long as your white and you want to take someone’s land it’s completely justified. The people that was fighting for freedom on their own land are labeled terrorist. Israel is nothing but a South Africa in disguise. The British Empire just wanted a replacement for South Africa as a port city for surplus goods next to the Suez Canal and what’s funny South Africa and Israel both share the same goals of exploiting African’s for diamonds and gold the staples of their early economies. Israel is just like all the other countries in the world where Europeans commit genocide and steal land. There are no human rights or justice for non-whites any where in the world.

So following your logic, none of the Arab states should be allowed, seeing as they’re a religion, not a race.

I support Israel’s right to defend itself, but warn that disproportionate responses to current threats can serve to 1. Meet the objectives of their enemies by mobilizing opposition 2. Increase number of casualties and human rights violations we are all keen to prevent. 3. Put Israel in a position where it becomes the perpetrator of acts that could easily be perceived as “terrorist activities” by their enemies, the victims and objective witnesses around the world.
The Middle East and rest of the world must unite in alienating and pressuring representatives of the Palestinian state which seek to eliminate Israel. Hamas must either abandon the policy or face both internal & external pressure to leave office so that the Palestinian people, can finally have a life of peace and stability and a government that is fully committed to that end.

Israel has all the right in the world to protect themselves. Why is it that people seem to think that terrorist should be allowed to bomb a country ie. Israel or United States and they/we should just turn the other cheek. I guess you that are opposed of Israel protecting there own are also against us protecting our own. You must have forgotten about 9-11. It is sad and I support Israel and say take out everyone of the terrorists and those that support them.

We wanted elections in Palestine and they elected Hamas. Hamas is a political party, not a terrorist group. Gaza strip is a massive concentration camp, anyone who supports Israel in this situation either has no idea what they’re talking about or are some religious whack job waiting for the end days. Anyway only 5 people in congress with balls to vote against Israel’s interest, why does Israel have so much clout in this country?

Does Hamas treat Israelis equally? Hamas had continuously launched missiles into Isreal. Israel is defending itself. While innocent lives being lost is horrible, what are you to do if the enemy hides behind women and children. Also, just because Hamas is a political party does not mean it isn’t a terrorist group. I will concede that there will be no long lasting peace until the Israelis stop settling the West Bank and the blockade of Gaza is lifted; however, there is no excuse for Hamas’s bombing and threats against the West. Slinkymaster, you honestly believe that their isn’t a reason for blockading Gaza, that Israel just did it because of racism or entertainment. You throw insults out, and that just says that you do not have any more facts to back up your opinion. There are two sides to nearly every situation, yet you say if someone disagrees with YOU that they are ignorant or a religious zealot. This is what is wrong with America’s foreign policy, one-sided ideologies.

Israel killed more of it’s own troops than Hamas killed with rockets. Why would we commend this behavior? We shouldn’t pass this resolution for the same reason we shouldn’t pass a resolution commending Hamas.

Did everyone forget that Israel took every last Jewish Israeli civilain out of Gaza a few years ago, and their troops too. What was the response from Arab Palestinian Gaza? Rockets fired onto any place in Israel they could reach, especially a civilian town in Israel called Sderot. Any big protests against that? No. It appears that there are disproportionate protests and outrage only when Israel moves to defend its citizens from those who are utterly contemptuous of the Geneva Conventions. Israel is a small place, not even the size of New Jersey, and it is the only Nation with a non-Muslim majority between Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean, to the sub-Continent of India. The Palestinians were made pawns in 1948 by their brothers and they have been maintained in that position since. So, those of you who wish to blame Israel will continue out of willful spite and maliciousness and/or just plain ignorance. Moreover, you turn International Law and History on its head when you fail to praise a Congressional resolution that recognizes the difference between right and wrong.

For the sake of peace, Israel will have to maintain its sovereignty as a nation, regardless of the conditions by which that sovereignty was acquired. However, also for the sake of peace, something must change with regards to how Israel maintains that sovereignty. It cannot continue to conduct its military operations and Apartheid-like practices unabated, with no accountability.

I fail to understand what seems to be the infallibility of Israel – how those voices who speak out against the country’s practices are either a quiet minority or a few violent pockets of militancy. How is it that most of the world seems to offer either tacit approval or feign blissful ignorance as Israel has continued throughout its history to perpetrate a plethora of human rights violations and countless other offenses?
