11/7/2009--Passed House without amendment. (This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.) Recognizes the events of 1989 that helped lead to the Cold War's end. Congratulates the countries of Central and Eastern Europe which have emerged as strong democracies. Welcomes the commitment by the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to keep the door to membership open for all European countries which meet the conditions for accession.
