11/6/2009--Introduced.Insists that Burma's military regime begin a political dialogue with Aung San Suu Kyi, the National League for Democracy, and ethnic nationalities toward national reconciliation, and the restoration of democracy, freedom of assembly, freedom of movement, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and human rights. Demands the release of Aung San Suu Kyi, detained Buddhist monks, Kyaw Zaw Lwin (a Burmese born American citizen), and all other political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. Calls on:(1) governments around the world to strengthen economic and arms sanctions against Burma;
(2) the U.N. Security Council to impose multilateral sanctions on Burma's military regime;
(3) the Administration to implement the Tom Lantos Block Burmese JADE Act.
