There are 6 million unemployed and there are not 6 million jobs. It will be a cut-throat game of musical chairs in 2010 if this bill isn’t extended! Banks can’t fail but the purchasing power of 6 million can? Will our parks look like Haiti full of 6 million homeless?

The only problem is our government won’t cut taxes on anyone. Businesses use their money to expand and create more jobs, we need to stop the false belief that all business is bad and are just keeping all of the money. Sure there are always a few, but business and the jobs and money they move are what makes America what it is!

And every single one will be re-elected, and there will be fewer Republicans in 2010. Adjust for that.

Why is it that the law abiding citizens are the first to encourage others to break the law? Maybe their selfishness and self centeredness has finally come to the surface.

Refuse to pay yoour taxes, and expect a large fine. The Republicans cut the staff at the IRS and SEC. The Democrats have doubled it.

Small businesses will still make a profit, it will just take longer to accumulate wealth. Businesses will have to pay a living wage, and if they choose to not compete, they will be driven out of business.

We stimulate the economy by cutting tases for wage earning individuals, and raising taxes on businesses. Businesses do not need food and shelter to survive = people do.

Tax cuts don’t stimulate the economy. They do buy votes. Look at how many extra votes the Republicans paid for by cutting taxes on the wealthiest.

The Republicans cut raxes and spend money – increasing the size of the debt service to our nation. Where was your outrage then? And when are you going to pay the $34,000 you owe me for starting an occupation on foreign soil?

Thankfully, the Democrats are now in charge, and will reamin so for a long, long time. The majority of Americans agree that the conservative philosophy is a cancer on America.

You RINOs will get what’s coming to you in the next election. What good is a republican that votes like a socialist democrat? about as much good as dog$#!T on the bottom of my shoe. Sorry I don’t have anything substantive of constructive to say about racking up debt that we cannot possibly afford to pay off.

Please let’s support this progressive change Obama has proposed. Renewable energy, health care and education. All will bring revenue into our economy and they are positive, progressive changes. Changes we have never seen before! There is nothing negative about them. I am excited about this welcoming change.

PRINCIPLE: AGAINST
Wrong philosophy and logic: Can’t spend our way out of a recession
Grows government involvement in our individual lives.
Creates government dependence.
States should do this if they want it, not Federal government.

ZAPEM 03/25/2009 2:36pm

LOL! Look at the names of the co-sponsors. They’re all communists! Figures.

ZAPEM 03/25/2009 2:32pm

Boxer, knock it off with the creating/saving jobs lies. The American people aren’t that stupid. You’re in with the Federal Reserve and out to bankrupt America so you can confiscate all the power. We know what you’re doing and you’re not going to get away with it.

kgotjesus2001 03/25/2009 4:34am

Things are getting way out of hand with our gov’t. They are not listening. We have got to MAKE them hear us! Any suggestions? I write my congressmen almost daily and I get an automated response email or letter. I’m sick of this! Is anyone else as tired as I am? It seems that others are speaking out as well with no response. Our gov’t officials are supposed to work for us! I am attending a ‘TEA Party’ on April 15th but who’s to say that will work? I think we need a revolt! If everyone in America stopped paying taxes would they listen? I think they would have to! We could all claim married and 9 and then refuse to pay. I don’t think that is unAmerican. I think it is revolution in its greatest, loudest form! What do you all think???? They can’t arrest the entire nation! Can they?

Congress should not be making laws concerning unemployment, Our Fore Fathers wrote the U.S. Constitution, I believe they should know the meaning of the words written in it! ……….. “Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government”. – James Madison ……. “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation and foreign commerce. …… The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives and liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement and prosperity of the State”.- James Madison, -

Get a tab for the White House parties being conducted every week and the Happy Hours too while you’re at it. Because no one is adding that all up.

And just how are they inclined to start any business in this country when Obama and his cronies are threatening them with the burden of the taxes everytime they do anything around here? Where do you think your JOBS come from? Poor people? Obama hates the rich and he’s doing a good job convincing you to hate them too.

Enjoy your poverty, America!

Oh wait! You have no explanation for her tyrannical march on America.

Why don’t you try some documents called the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and The Bill of Rights where it says quite clearly that the government has no right to take from the rich and give to the poor. Way to go, libs! You over-taxed the businesses and now they’re going out of business, cutting off your employment. Stupid people.

No! We need to make sure this bill doesn’t get passed AT ALL!

Keep bankrupting America, so long as you get your unemployment check? Give me a BREAK!

Better get on the stick ladies and gentlemen of the Congress, lose the politics and get real about running this Nation else your next term may well be spent pumping non-existent gasoline at our local service station!

Despite what is broadcast on news programs and mentioned in political speeches, the bloody economy will NOT collapse if AIG goes under, nor will it collapse if GM goes under. For Christ’s sake, we survived a hell of a lot worse than a few multi-billion dollar companies filing chapter 11. I think it would be best for them to crash, the executives would get what they earned and well deserve. NOTHING but an unemployment insurance application.

Some smart American entrepreneur would step up and fill that void by creating a new company to take the place of AIG, GM, and whoever else goes belly up. As has happened in this free economy since the signing of the Declaration of Independence!

saintc 03/18/2009 10:06am

A paragraph found in Section 111 of this bill allowing AIG to use funds provided by this bail out bill to pay millions of bonuses to high level AIG executives. AIG contributed over 100,000 dollars to the political campaign of Barack Obama and also passed some bonus cash to Senator Chris Dodd, both in brutal support of this bill.

Let me remind the readers of this post that this is the same company that threw a very expensive post-bail-out party at a 5-Star resort hotel two weeks after they received an 85 billion dollar bailout last October. Now they are paying big bonuses to these same executives? What the hell?

Obama, in a brief press meeting this morning, snowed the issue by bringing up education for Christ’s sake! What the hell yet again?

There is some SERIOUS FRAUD taking place both at AIG and on capitol hill!

ZAPEM 03/14/2009 12:33pm

OH GOD! Not again! More spending, more crybabies who think they’re entitled to apron-string government being their mommy. Where does it END!!!! Get off my paycheck and go work cleaning houses if you have to! Talk about freeloading BUMS!

readmywritings 03/06/2009 9:19pm

How about a $40,000 stimulus to every tax paying household??? Let’s see….I’d get a new roof, buy a new Harley, buy some CD investments, take an actual vacation…. WOW, I would STIMULATE THE ECONOMY, IDIOTS!!!

awhite81 03/06/2009 9:18am

This bill is supposed to “make supplemental appropriations for job preservation and creation, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and science, assistance to the unemployed, and State and local fiscal stabilization”

My wife’s pay was reduced as an additional $980 annually was taken out of her current $30k salary because of THIS bill alone. Let me ask the misinformed members of Congress who voted FOR this bill…

How do you preserve jobs along with establish state and local fiscal stabilization when my wife and I have less money to spend and stimulate our local economy???

If you morons who keep taking our fruits of labor want to “stimulate the economy”, then REDUCE TAXES. Allow us to KEEP the money we earned. Then we will in turn spend it, thus stimulating the economy and establish LOCAL FISCAL STABILITY. Taking money OUT OF OUR COMMUNITY through tax dollars is MAKING THINGS WORSE.

WAKE UP!!! Listen to the people for a change, and GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!!

traviswineberg 02/24/2009 4:22pm

Not sure what the government can do. Look at all the money it has poored into large companies and because they can’t manage themselves they are asking for more. Our dollar weakens with each similar bill that gets passed. None of this will truly help our Economy. It will be the effort of a companies competitiveness. Things got real hard on us for many different reasons. Gas was going up faster than we could keep up. And property values were doing the same. When that happened it cost more to do things we like to do and cost more to drive anywhere. So people made an improvission and took public transportation. And with the threat of gas rising fast again I see a huge market for companies to compete. For property, well that one is a tough one. The only way for that to go down will be the lack of sales forcing reality companies to lower prices just to be able to make that sale. This country has problems in Economics right now that are way beyond the government.

It,s great we will have better roads to haul the chines imports to the east coast
