Michigan is fortunate to be a top 5, and one of the fastest growing, states in number of breweries. A number of companies have seen rapid growth and a very large increase in employment and taxes paid. My company alone has added 10-15 jobs in the last year and pay approximately $200,000 of company taxes per year(both doubled over the previous 12 months), which is already 10% of revenues. Any increase would immediately be felt and growth in our businesses will seize. In the past twelve months we have invested almost $1.5 million in expanding, a relatively small number compared to a lot of other breweries. Almost all breweries in Michigan are reasonably small but together our growth has been an often overlooked bright spot in Michigans economy.
