    I support this bill.

I agreee to most people here. There's no point in owning a house if my family is not here with me.

This bill is a big hope for skill workers who have to wait over 10 years to become a permanent resident. If this process will smoother then they can take enough calculative Risk to help the economy by buying the house, property, invest in business, start up companies etc... List is long.....

    I support this Bill.........

Many skilled employees who are non-residents here are going out of the country. If this bill passes, then these employees will get hope of getting the permanent residency Who are working here since long time. So that they will stay in the country and work here. With this, tax payers will increase, investments in small businesses, buying homes will also increase. So as a part, this helps the US Economy to rise.
This is the reason i support the bill.

I am for this bill as we are not requesting to increase the visa numbers but to recapture the unused visa numbers. I cam to this country in mid June-2001 as a student and compeleted my Masters in Computer Science. I am working sice graduation and my comapny filed my Employment based GC in first quater of 2005. It is still pending and I don;t know how many more years it will take to get it and if it would forth at that time. Our hands are tied as we can't do any extraordinary things like starting our own company and wasting some of the most productive years of the life. By the time we get it I don't know if we have same drive and we just maintain the job because of our family responsibilities.
So, I am not requesting to increase but atleast recapture the visas which were not used because of whatever reasons.

I second the relief this bill will hopefully bring to LEGAL employment based (EB) immigration system. There are numerous educated skilled workers living legally in the US for many years. We live by the laws of the country and want to live our dreams and invest our hard earned money in the US. Unfortunately every aspect of their lives are left in a LIMBO due to lack of visa numbers and country based quotas in the Employment based green card process. (Employment Based skilled professionals waiting for their green cards should not be impacted by their country of origin). Provided an oppurtunity, every individual will work towards the upliftment of this country. God bless America.

this bill will help raising up the economy here as i see the $ will stay at USA will not go any where as when families united together more houses will be bought more dollars will be spent in their country shouldn't go to home country back..
please each one re think fair to those people who is living LEGAL at USA and works fair and a very simple human right that bringing their spouses or children below 21 temporary visas, united together..
PLEASE VOTE FOR THOSE PEOPLE AS I DID..
    ITS FOR OUR ECONOMY..

I wanted to buy/open up the multi-speciality clinic for my wife(who is a physician)employing different speciality physicians and other supporting staff but I can not buy unless I receive my employment based GC because I fear that USCIS might deny my pending I485-GC application based on any minor reasons.

As a legal immigrant, it is good to see some immigration benefits that are not tied down to illegal immigration. It is high time legal immigration is fixed (before giving any thoughts to resolving the wider immigration issues).

Let not the law abiding be held hostage to the law breakers (no matter the social angle of the law breakers).

It will lessen the serious retrogression in the employment based categories for green card processing (EB2, EB3) which in turn will be beneficial for the sponsoring companies (like the hi-tech industry) and the economy as a whole.

I appreciate and thank the senators for taking this initiative and recognizing the needs of immigrants as well as the country. I believe passage of this bill will be a tremendous boost to the economy in the most notable sectors of housing and auto industry as a huge number of employed immigrants will buy houses and new cars.

This bill helps people who are long time for permanent residency. They are lot of people like me who are waiting to buy house once they get their permanent residency. It helps a lot to the economy. This DO NOT welcomes more immigrants but helping the legal immigration who are paying taxes.

Looks like they are loading the books, or in this case, the comment section. Must have Acorn people at work, to use the term loosely. Obama is still courting the Hispanic vote and kissing a-- to get it. It doesn't matter what it costs the American people. Too bad he doesn't care about those who are here already, but of course, we're not going to vote for him. He and his administration are going to destroy our Country, and they are doing it fast. They need a new crop of voters.

Immediate relatives/Dependents should not be count for a immigrant visa number.

This bill will be help full because there are some 600,000 visas that have not been used in the past which is part of the reason that there is a log jam now for visas & years and years of wasted time waiting as an I-140 holder.
    Thanks

This bill will Only help the illegals get a faster stronghold on our economy. If these people want a better place to live they need to reform their own place of residence.

    Dear burke524,

Please read at least one of the 100 positive posts on this topic - you will know that we are not talking about "illegals" as you state. This bill is directed towards LEGAL immigrants - the kind you should welcome if you want to keep illegal immigration in check.

Of course, no immigration would be your preference, but that is not practical in today's world. Need an example? - look at North Korea and Iran - that's what happens when you cut yourself off from the world - now look at the progress in a little country called the U.S.A. - that's what happens when you allow LEGAL immigration and open yourself for business, trade, scientific and social development.

    burke524,

Looks like you have not read the bill, please read it. This is aimed at "LEGAL" immigrants, who abide by the law, PAY thousands of $$$ in taxes and have been contributing to the US economy "LEGALLY" for years.

As a matter of fact some of these people have been here "LEGALLY" for more than decades. And hence have contributed a lot to the country not only by paying taxes but as consumers as well.

If this bill passes many will be provided relief and they will purchase homes since the only thing stopping them from doing so is that they do not have Residency. This will bring up the housing market as well.

Therefore I urge people to support this bill as it has a lot of benefits not only for people residing in this country "LEGALLY" and needing their Green Card but also for the economy over all.

This bill will give big relief for thousands of law abiding individuals to get their green card faster and help unite families and contribute more to develop the economy.

Description in part says, "Specifically, it would reclassify spouses and children of legal immigrants as immediate relatives"..

When were those ever NOT "immediate relatives"..??

They are not considered immediate relatives in terms of immigration law, so that is why they are reclassifying
