As a retired law enforcement officer, I can tell you the REAL ID act is a REALLY BAD idea. Here in Florida, it requires many of your personal ID documents be scanned and retained by the Division of Driver Licenses. Your data is as safe as the weakest link in the chain, be it a hacker or a corrupt employee. The PASS-ID act has some issues as well. In short, the federal government does not need to be involved in the driver license process per the 10th Amendment. For those states that have been sucked into this mess, we need to concentrate on them and get them to opt-out of the REAL ID act provisions.

It’s just a sugarcoat to the already distasteful REAL ID act. It tries to make things seem nice while avoiding the most serious issues: greater government macro-control, and an easily accessible centralized database that can be extended to include all sorts of government notes, breaching our privacy.

Is this basically the same thing as RealID like the comments seem to imply? What I’ve seen so far is that this new one is to make it more workable for the states and for traveling?

I’m still against the idea in general but I’m wondering if people are seeing a similar name and overreacting or if the discussions I’ve seen so far have tried to cover up what this really is…

You may want to be away of the TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential). It’s just another version of REAL ID. You can read a little about it at the following URL:

I will send out flyers against this , to inform the sleeping Americans to wake up , this makes me angry as a voter .

They done this once before , and i’m still against it .

State legislatures shot down the REAL ID, so is there any reason to revive it? No! This is ludicrous, and now, the Obama administration is attempting to make another grab at our privacy.

Will this ever end? This bill should be known by more people, especially on this website, so that we may (once again) rally against this new REAL ID act.

The REAL ID Act is about to fail, since it’s pure bullsh*t; this act is just an extension of it. Vote it down or you’ll be down in a FEMA camp soon!

Since when was Homeland Security ever about privacy?
