What ever happened to “innocent until proven guilty”?

To Lautenberg and the rest of the anti-gunners, being gun owners proves that you are guilty.

Since when do we give the power to one appointed individual to strip someone of their Constitutionally protected rights without any form of due process, let alone a conviction?

First of all, this is the same “watch list” that had the late Sen. Edward Kennedy on it. If this list has had errors like that in the past, and is not opened for public review to prevent it from becoming a politically motivated enemies list, we the people have no logical reason to trust said list’s veracity.

This list has, and continues to have outrageous errors on it. Either open the list and the methods behind putting the names on the list, or scrap this Orwellian nightmare of an ill-conceived bill.

I think the legislation is reasonable and provides a rational means of keeping track of gun transactions at transient events like gun shows. No one is prohibited from buying or selling. It does not seem to be excessive and the negative reaction in these comments appears to unfounded. I strongly believe in the second amendment and gun owner rights and am not disturbed by reasonable controls and reporting.
