Serendipity, not sure what your “huh” means. MA did actually go ahead and pass a new law. We were talking about the controversy around it beforehand.

That’s exactly what I meant nancym, which is why I posted the link about the appointment.

The Governor can declare an emergency and appoint a temporary replacement. I believe the primary for the actual election is in December and the vote will be in January. Patrick appointed someone who worked closely with Kennedy and will be using Kennedy’s staff and is NOT running for the position.

irresponsible behavior like delaying this bill is exactly the kind of thing that gives Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly so much power, If the congress didn’t do stupid things nobody would have a reason to think they are out for their own agenda!

I wonder if all these unemployment bills being created is to just add to the confusion and gives them a valid excuse to delay passing one of them.

This IS the same bill, just a different header for the Senate; this is what we wanted!

I have a sinking feeling this will be like 6867 was. I got behind on my bills then. I will again. This is very frustrating for all. I am in Illinois we are @ 10.2 with an average 3 month 10.0. I am getting e-mails and phone calls back stating they are trying to get healthcare out of the way. They should have done this a month ago. I have been without benifits since Aug 31. It’s getting ruff out here again, and they all know there are no jobs in sight till middle of 2010. I see labor board is on congress to pass something now. Hope it will help speed this up.

Marches and all. Telling my age it is looking like the 60’s again. Maybe that is what it is going to take. Hopefully without the violence???

Senate is saying No VOTE until after the Health Care bill

Any move by the Senate finance panel to move benefits extension legislation would likely have to wait until after the committee concludes consideration of health-care legislation.

i have compiled a list of states represented by those congresspeople who voted against hr3548 because their states didn’t qualify for benefits
i have e-mailed my representative and one senator (the other is on his way out)
and made it clear that i expect them to vote against any funds going to ct,iowa, et all for state roads or the education of their children and the like because it does not help me
same principle – quid pro quo

Please all try to bring positive comments and good links to this thread. Leave all the negative comments on Hr 3548 thread. They are basking in the doom and gloom on it. Yes things are bad but stayed focused and on topic. I do like a joke or two from time to time. But not being called names and belittled. We are trying to get action from congress. It took it seemed forever with 6867.

either we stand together on all issues that help people or we only think of ourselves – for a representative of this nation to say i didn’t vote on this because it didn’t help my district or state is inexusable

  • NoGoodOnesLeft 09/25/2009 6:52am

I just saw a new news article quoting Reid as saying they would address it quickly. How long as that been being quoted? Maybe we should all send him dictionaries with the word “quickly” highlighted. Or include the online dictionary definition of “quickly” in our e-mails.

    JM,

The delay is in the Senate. Keep up the pressure on your senators. Call, fax and email your senators. I suggest calling their D.C. offices. That’s what I was told to do.
