    From Atlas Shrugged

Galt: “You want me to be Economic Dictator?”

    Mr. Thompson: “Yes!”

“And you’ll obey any order I give?”

    “Implicitly!”

“Then start by abolishing all income taxes.”

“Oh no!” screamed Mr. Thompson, leaping to his feet. “We couldn’t do that . . . How would we pay government employees?”

    “Fire your government employees.”

    “Oh, no!”

Abolishing the income tax. Now that really would be a genuine economic stimulus. But Mr. Obama and the Democrats in Washington want to do the opposite: to raise the income tax “for purposes of fairness” as Barack Obama puts it.

Nice Rand reference. This will never pass…it would be like the government committing suicide. I’m all for roads and national defense, but when we’re subsidizing abortions I say its time to cut back.

I think the Fair Tax is gaining momentum. don’t know if it will ever pass but one can hope.

We all know that tax refund loan or refund anticipation loan(RAL) are getting more popular nowadays. These are loans made by your tax prepares against tax refund. If this personal loans are planned very well then this may result in good terms. But if your refund gets rejected by the IRS, then you have to pay it all back, plus staggering interest. And you will be needing your personal bank account if you want a direct deposited. However, the high interest rates draws a lot of criticism of tax refund loans, and the IRS is firmly committed to not getting involved.

I recognize that there must be some taxation for government to function. Without government there would be anarchy. Most of us don’t want that.
I used to think most of us didn’t want more government, but I was proven
    wrong this last election.
The fair tax would be a way to regulate your own taxation. If you don’t
want to pay the tax; don’t spend. Spend what you can afford.

Never say never folks. The environment is ripe for this kind of reform. The people are rising up and speaking out. Call your reps and let them know you want this. If they won’t sign on, vote them out. Actively support FairTax candidates. Or, RUN YOURSELF!

People trust that random folks picked out of the phonebook would do a better job in Congress. The House is exactly the place for the “regular” people to serve their neighbors and their country.

I think the fairest way to tax is a flat rate income tax. drop all the rest of the taxes, fees and deductions. Gov. just keeps sneaking in fees, sin taxes, hotel, airport and so on. the deficet is out of controland the gov just wants to keep on spending. vote in conservatives when you get the chance or where all going to be in the proverble crapper.

The problem with the flat income tax or any other income tax is people lie just as well as politicians. It is easier to hide your income than it is what you spend. I was against the fair tax until I found out about the prebate. Poorer people get the help they need up front. Voting out all incumbents and passing the fair tax would go a long way toward correcting the path this country is on.
