When my father served, if he was injured while enlisted, he was medically taken care of for the rest of his life – well, except for when the VA told him he couldn’t PROVE he was on the Ommaney Bay when she was sunk – he could have gotten those shrapnel wounds in his legs any time AFTER WWII or Korea)…

When I served, if I was injured on duty, that one part was supposed to be covered for the rest of my life.

Now that my son is serving, the VA is trying to cut back on aid for him, based on “Aww, you didn’t need THAT hand so much – you had two ya know!”

This is the most disgusting thing I’ve seen to date, and have begun activating my son, his boys, and our family against these two representatives and this bill!

Is this a joke? I can’t believe that this is even an issue. If you want to save money… if you REALLY want to save money by cutting expenditure, then get rid of the highly over paid civilians doing our jobs in garrison. Contractor gets paid say 70K a year for IT, firefighter, personnel management, cooks… I’m already getting paid, I get the job done better, and faster. Why would you cut vets benefits. You sent our asses there. THAT’S HOW YOU TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO CUT SPENDING, NOT OUR BENEFITS.
