One Sentence: This bill will restore the values this country used to hold by taking the free speech given by the Roberts court to each dollar bill and returning it to the people.

Large donations to campaigns aren’t wrong, secret donations ARE. This is’nt against freedom of speech, its against buying elections, people should know who is sponsoring our government officials.

Why would you ever opposed this? Oh right, half the users on this site have been brainwashed by Fox News.

Just look at the laundry list of special interests that oppose the bill to get an idea of what we’re really looking at. Do we want these powerful organizations secretly funneling money into politics? Do we want attack ads to be the only source of voter information? The attack ads were actually worse this year, it’s not your imagination, and killing these private donations is simply going to provide us the most basic protection against the nightmare of our democracy- secret interests expressing absolute control over politics.
