You RT’s are certainly a comical bunch, lol. I will take President Barack Hussein Obama over George W. Bush all the way to 2016 especially after the septic tank of collasso messes he left behind. Nightmare would have been if Wink van Winkle aka John McCain was President OMG! America would be in Vietnam War Part II, also invasion of Iraq! Invasion of Iran! Invasion of Russia! Invasion of North Korea! Invasion of Alaska because he hates Sarah Palin! AND of course the Invasion of Europe! No way would America vote for the same dysfunctional party that got us in this Recession and left Obama with a $12 TRILLION national debt. The Republicans have NO credibility and that will be proven on 11/3rd by the MILLIONS of jobless Americans who watched the FLOOR SHOW over & over again by the republicans blocking jobless extensions!

for anyone new to opencongress please ignore sher1 she is trying to start arguments, she has several screen names and will even argue with her self, if you ignore her and her attempts to divide us she will go away

Please don’t feed the trolls, it does not matter if you agree or disagree with her off topic posts if you reply to her she will keep going until she ruins this thread making it imposable for anything productive to take place.

just try to stay focused on getting this bill passed

I will comment & sometimes I will not BUT I have repeatedly said the priority is S3706 and amendments needed so I see YOU have changed your tune which is a clue. My my my!!!

Nothing on SEB2 yet. Here is the Facebook site for CO.
A lot of pissed off people. Do you know, or does anybody know
if we are supposed to go to a meeting again and turn in our job searches?

    http://www.mlive.com/michigan-job-search/index.ssf/2010/08/senate_not_schedules_to_take_up_tier_v_u.html

“Senate not scheduled to take up Tier V unemployment extension when it returns in September”

The part that confuses me is that it is presented as emergency legislation that does not have to be follow paygo, so why did it go to committee? emergency legislation does not have to go to committee!

Abaratarr – respectfully disagree with your assessment as the actions on the bill currently states “Read twice and referred to the Committee on Finance.” Get the bill out of committee and Reid WILL schedule a vote. Get it through the Senate and Pelosi will have no choice but to consider it it the House or commit political suicide. Unfortunately nothing will happen of substance until Congress reconvenes.

your prediction on this was right on the money, it was most definitely political suicide.

wow rush limbaugh is talking about 3706 and the 99ers

Hey jgallop – instead of posting dozens of posts for individual stories, can you simply combine them into one post and then reply to that post with any additional postings related to that original post? It’d help keep the clutter way down in this forum and instead of seeing the page count jump unnecessarily.

No, again – most of us don’t want to wade thru pages of posts. You should’ve just consolidated into fewer posts.

Over 1.4 million people have been out of work for over 99 weeks — which means they are no longer eligible to receive unemployment insurance benefits. This segment of the population has already begun to add to the number of indigent Americans and will continue to do so unless they can find homes with friends and family.

    http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/110344/what-the-double-dip-recession-will-look-like

Indigent Americans means…lacking food, clothing, and other necessities of life because of poverty; needy; poor; impoverished.

Boy, must be nice to be a Congress-person during this Recession ..6 week vacation and not a care in the world..

This Bill was introduce 8/4/2010. Where the emergency help! More and more unemployed everyday and who have exhausted the longest have been without any lifeline for more than 20 weeks with no recovery of jobs or much improvement on the economy. Call it what you want negative or whatever political view. Congress out all the time while the country is going into the pot. How can you not stop and do something about the Jobs, and unemployed ? By the time this gets back into the court with more delays, blocks and typical bull the unemployed will need additional help and find themselves further in debt or loosing everthing they have built. This Bill should have been for 52 WEEKS (ONE YEAR)as the President said months ago and they know it. It will be fall soon and the job growth will be slim and none the congress knows this. This is a shame we give other money elsewhere but when it comes to the people who provide these large salaries, vacations they are ignored on problems they did not cause!

You are speaking the truth…it is not negative. However, remember that before 8/4/10 no one had done anything or even mentioned us. So Stabenow is still a bit of a heroine and we should be thankful for her.

In the meantime, logic dictates that they would never approve 52 weeks (although that would be nice)…especially if the Republicans step forth…which they will. So we have to bombard them and make our collective voices heard. And make sure that you are a registered voter and go vote!

Thanks for the post…quite poignant and to the point!

Yeah, the only thing I show the President saying publicly about UI is back in June admonishing Congress to pass the extension of benefits. He has not said anything that I can find about a UI expansion – which is why most of us are here for.
