Tere are 3 million jobs available and 15 million unemployed……who gets the jobs? and what about the other 12 million????

Are you just idiots??…..Not to mention US, the 99ers……7 million of US!!!!!!!

This is not calculus 12 + 7 equals==== 19 million with no JOBS JOBS JOBS!!!

  • BPennett 02/10/2011 7:15am

The unemployment rate has been over 8% for well over 2 years / 112 weeks far more than 99 weeks. Is the atmosphere / climate for finding JOBS they spoke about….TALK TALK TALK…..? Now they say it will continue for at least 2 more years, another 104 weeks…….THAT"S UNEMPLOYMENT OVER 8% for OVER 208 WEEKS probably more…..208 WEEKS….and they want to use 99 weeks, the 99er’s label, as a dysphemism for the unemloyed who want jobs? Man, something is seriously wrong here!!!!!! Should we call this the 112er’s government? or after another year the 164er’s or after another two years the 216er’s? WE ARE MUCH MORE THAN NUMBERS -—— IDIOTS!!!!!!!!

BP you are obviously right – it is incomprehensible that so many chose to belittle the 99ers that really don’t have a snowballs chance in hell of finding a job in this horrible jobs environment. I have always advocated that dumb can be fixed, but stupid is forever – so lets work on the “dumb” ones and see what we can do to bring them out of the dark and into the light!

3.9 Million Americans Ran Out Of Unemployment Benefits In 2010: Report

Last year, 3.9 million Americans ran out of unemployment insurance benefits, according to a new analysis provided to HuffPost by the National Employment Law Project.

Those 3.9 million are not necessarily still unemployed, and not all of them are necessarily “99ers” — people who exhausted the maximum 99 weeks of benefits currently available in 25 states — but the number offers a dramatic reminder that the longest-ever unemployment lifeline is still not long enough for some Americans to climb out of the deepest jobs hole since the Great Depression.

Jobless benefits extension would help 300,000-plus Californians

The long-term unemployed – including hundreds of thousands in California – would receive 14 additional weeks of jobless benefits under a bill introduced in Congress this week.

More than 2.2 million Californians were out of work in December. As of Feb. 8, there were nearly 330,000 “99ers” – the jobless who have exhausted the maximum 99 weeks of unemployment insurance, according to the state Employment Development Department.

Just read that the U-F website is CLOSED. Final announcement posted: “That being said, I will not allow them to dissuade my own advocacy for the unemployed, nor should they yours. The Unemployed of this country need your help and you need to continue in that fight”

  • Sher1 02/12/2011 11:48am

Unfortunately, with all the good, there is the bad – there are people that have recently fabricated stories about us(the admins) of this board and its members. The rumors and accusations are libelous, insidious and vile. Not only have they hurt us, they are also hurting members of this board due to their destructive and vindictive behavior. This is not the first time this has happened, but the extent to which it is occurring now has crossed the line.

    Unemployed-Friends(Admin) Today

    Dear Members:

The site and forum of Unemployed-Friends is now closed. We have been contemplating closing the forum for many reasons in the present/past and even attempted to last summer. The fact is that it is very difficult to manage a forum and more difficult than I ever could have imagined when I started this place.

We have been running this board for over 1.5 years and are proud of it and our member’s advocacy on behalf of the unemployed. This forum has changed lives and made a difference – do not forget that. We have all made friends along this way and I hope that you all can remain in touch with those that touched your lives positively. I have marveled in the past at the love and support shown between members. Those moments will stay with me and I hope upon reflection, they stay with you

    1)
People need to really realize what caused the recession and why it is not going to just fix by itself!!!
They need to realize what the definition of a 99er really is:
With the exception of the COPY CAT 99ers (people taking advantage of the free money) and with the exception of any RECENT 99ers that exhausted 99 weeks AFTER MAY 2010 NOR ANY BODY THAT BECAME A 99er this YEAR 2011 ….
99ers are mostly a LARGE group of people that were chosen to be laid off ‘FIRST-back in 2008’ from SPECIALIZED TYPE POSITIONS in large prominent companies when and because of illegal RESIDENTIAL LENDING practices THE HOUSING MARKET CRUMBLED (hedge funds collapsed) …EFFECTING…. 69% of RESIDENTIAL builders (construction) and residential bankers WERE THE
    FIRST LAID OFF!! –

    2)
Banks all of a sudden had to many foreclosures thus stopped giving out anymore RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION LOANS-the only way any economy can GROW is for banks to have the ‘AVAILABLE’ cash to RE-INVEST!).
These LAID OFF 99ERS were professional people who work in luxury industries;, ARCHITECTS, DESIGNERS OF ALL AREAS, MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICERS, ADVERTISING & MARKETING AGENTS, MANUFACTURING DESIGNERS PROFESSIONAL –
THAT DEAL IN CONSTRUCTION MANUFACTURING SUCH AS WINDOWS DOORS ECT…..

    3)
EXPENSIVE LUXURY CARS SALESMEN were next because – high paid professionals who got laid off could not afford these expensive cars…LARGE MANUFACTURING COMPANIES CHOSE TO LEAVE THE USA AND OUTSOURCE OVER SEAS –WITH THE HELP OF foreign lobbies WHO pay politicans to benefit overseas and not the the Americans here the create policies such as Nafta to ship jobs overseas and so on and so on!
PRESIDENT BUSH IGNORED EVERYTHING GOING ON AND LEFT IT FOR OBAMA TO FIX……….
OBAMA CAME INTO OFFICE WITH VERY LITTLE CONCERN FOR THE ECONOMY HE CONCETRATED ON SHOWING OFF HIS NEW HEALTHCARE DEAL THAT HE HAD BEEN PREPARING FOR 7 YEARS PRIOR TO EVER COMING INTO OFFICE!…………..
A huge domino effect if you will,,,,,

    4)
THESE 99ER PROFESSIONALS were the FIRST to be HIT BY THE RECESSION, and by the same RULE OF LAW OF MOTION will be THE LAST TO GO BACK TO WORK!..ALSO…it is a FACT THAT THE OLDER FOLKS were FIRST TO BE PICKED TO BE LAID OFF, FROM LARGER FIRMS, NOT SURE WHY THAT IS!!!…….BUT ILL BET IT HAS TO DO WITH THE ‘IDEA’ THAT OLDER WORKERS ARE LESS PHYSICALLY PRODUCTIVE AND COST COMPANIES MORE THAN YOUNGER EMPLOYEES.

    5)
Finally, now that there is a recession in motion the only way we can stop it is; to invest BACK into the economy and also help the 99ers so they can contribute from their end…. by passing a TIER V, so that the FIRST people laid off (99ers) can get back on their feet and the money they receive will be immediately pumped back into the deficient /failing economy.
“Once these indicators remain constant and stable, confidence in the economy rises, thereby allowing businesses and consumers to shift priorities from extreme conservation to planning improvements such as RESIDENTIAL & CONSTRUCTION and, expansion and RESIDENTIAL investments based on anticipated income and expenses for immediate, long term and future goals. “…….. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY, SO PASS TIER V, NOW!

As long as 10% of the people in the U.S. hold 70% of the wealth then we are doomed. Let’s put that in real numbers 10% equals 3 million 100 thousand people and that leaves 306 million and 900 thousand people to divide up the 30% of wealth in this country. Just another reason;=No wonder there are no jobs coming back ‘fast’= the money is tied up and does not flow through the country. We used to have taxes of 50% to 91% on wealthy BEFORE PRESIDENT BUSH’s NEW 10 YEAR TAX BREAK FOR THE RICH WAS PASSED and that kept money flowing through the economy because if it wasn’t invested they lost it to taxes. Now there is ………………..ABSOLUTELY NO INCENTIVE………… to invest THUS the money is hoarded and the country slowly comes to a halt. FURTHERMORE –
