But why worry about that when we can pass something that looks like we are attempting to do something other than sit around, take meetings, go to fundraisers, or sit next to each other scratching each others backs, just so we can line our wallets with the money from the very people they are isolating with all this government managing.

Aren’t we in one of the worst resessions in known history and this jack hole is looking to shut down one of the most profitable sections in the reptile industry? Millions of dollors earned and taxed in the buying, raising and breeding of snakes and this idiot wants to dry up that well too. I guess why not, he can’t seem to help dry up the one in the gulf….

There is countless arguments against this intended ban and only very doubtful for it. Why are pythons in the focus? Only because some irresponsible people release animals into the wild? Why not start registring protected animals? Have pythons chipped to identify their owner. No big deal, every veterinarian can place the chip. Released exotics are there. Only future releases can be minimized but with reasonable action and legislation not by activism to appeace a low impact public. This is medieval politics but we are in the 21st century. Brain, rational power, knowledge need to be used to solve todays problems, not superstition or gamesmanship. What is the achievement intended? And what can be achieved really? The situation e.g. in the Everglades won´t change as neozoic species can´t be eradicated. Not a single person less will be injured or killed by a python simply because it doesn´t happen at all. Most of all, Mr. Senator, don´t you have other problems to solve? Happy Florida.

I honestly laughed when I read this bill. People that know nothing about snakes are so ignorant. I own four snakes. Two Columbian Red Tail Boa’s, a Rainbow Boa, and a Ball Python. These snakes are more well behaved than any dog.

Oh no we have an overwhelming amount of Burms in the Everglades because moronic snake keepers let their stock go. Big deal. This doesn’t affect the rest of the country obviously as there have been no other problems reported. Stop wasting money on things like this. Start spending it on something a little more out of control if you want to pick on animals… Like stray cats and dogs.
