Yes, this is dubbed by many as the “Necessary and Proper” clause. It has been used throughout the history of our country to create new rules impeding on certain people’s freedom’s either for the good or bad of our country depending on your opinion. It pretty much means that our government can do whatever they want if we let them, even if in some ways it goes against rights granted to us by our founding fathers.

Unbelievable! We don’t need more Government. I think that gives the President too much power and control over cyberspace. Whatever happen to just having a really good firewall? With the budget that our Government has, they should be able to afford a really strong firewall. Sounds like we are slowly becoming more like China with all their restrictions over the info on the internet.

It states that the president is to keep the balance of states. The internet is a direct threat to the balance of the states and even the balance of the whole planet. Thus it has become the presidents job to do something about regulating the flow of information. I am not even sure the government realizes what is happening and what is going to happen because of the internet. This bill is concerned with securing not balancing.

People have jumped to quickly into the information age, and they are not ready for it. Time to get burned.

This bill sounded like a reasonable idea until I read it.

This is fascism masquerading as “protection.”

The Constitution limits the power and control the government may exert. This bill does not fall within their job description.

Is there a good reason to not uphold the Constitution? The answer to that should be a show stopper. What else is there to discuss? If it’s not one of their Constitutional privileges then it doesn’t happen. We give them ALL their “privileges” to protect our “rights” – and that’s about it. We are King, each of us!

Yes, please, let’s just be honest and clear – this is not even a benign bill. The passage of it would serve only to open the door for their sinister, “the end justifies the means,’ New World Order motives!

Support this bill? See these:

Agenda 21 – their brand of “environmentalism”

“depopulation and Henry Kissinger” to see his depopulation plan.

“Zbigniew Brzezinski” (obama’s foreign policy advisor)

“Jekyll Island”

There are millions of American people out there that know what the threats are out there. This bill is yet another attempt to crush our constitutional rights! It will in no way stop these threats. What it only does it allow the government complete control! NO!

In brief, Amendment I of our bill of rights states that Congress shall make NO law abridging our freedom of speech!

This proposed bill is a complete disgrace to the American people and our constitutional laws. By constitutional LAWS, this bill would, without a shadow of a doubt, be illegal to be passed! Not even parts of it. The Senate should simply know that the government should have zero control over the internet and trash the bill as whole. It just makes me sick how some people are so anti-constitutional, so un-American.

justamick, how can you not see that? are you a communist? are you even an American? Yes, I do have to question you. You seem very lost.

justamick asked,“Who, exactly, should control the Government’s Cyber security standards for it’s own agencies?”

answer: Their own government I.T. Administration department! If the government agencies truly are getting hacked by the Chinese or whoever else, then they need to get on the ball and hire more competent programmers to secure “their own” networks.

How exactly by passing this bill is the government going stop these “foreign hackers”? Because the government servers get hacked, we should give up our freedoms on the internet? NO!

One more thing, since the Bush administration they’ve discovered there is a whole lot of money they can get by stealing our rights through fear. That’s why our rights are being assaulted by bills like this one and more and more daily. It’s a national disgrace – our forefathers are turning over in their graves at these insults to such a monumental document they created that lays out the rights of all men and women and children. Do not let your rights be stolen by fear. Live not in fear. And don’t vote for the candidate that promises the most from the public treasury for you – vote for the best candidate. There is no difference between the 2 parties we now have, they’re all after largess from the Government that essentially comes from us. Seek out liberals that are in line with your views. Ron Paul is the only one that makes sense to me.

It’s very simple people. In the upcoming elections, DO NOT VOTE FOR A REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!!! Both of these parties have been ruining this country for decades!!!! With the exception of Ron Paul, all of them are out for themselves and they are destroying our country!
Time to vote Libertarian. At least they understand the constitution!

4freespeech 02/15/2010 5:02am
in reply to Curly Dec 18, 2009 9:40am

Better yet. Don’t just vote out all incumbent politicians, do NOT vote for a republican or democrat!! Both parties have been running this country into the ground for decades!! Every two years it’s the same crap. “Send me to Washington and I’ll make a difference.” The only difference is the name on the desk and the person getting a paycheck! It’s time for both of them to go!

Smokey10 02/15/2010 4:32am

We are now in a Kleptocracy, a government of the elite, by the elite and for the elite. If they’re not busy taking our money they’re busy taking our rights and using fear to do that. Ron Paul is the only politician that makes sense and his ideas are what we need to stop this power grab. Less government, smaller banks and enforcement of existing regulations are all that’s needed. What would you do if someone were trying to rob you? Just stand there and let it happen? That is exactly what’s going on with what our Gov is doing to us, so don’t ask what can we do, ask yourself what would you do, find like minded people and get out there and organize. Can’t the While House set up a private intranet for security??!!
