I almost like the concept, but overall, its just economic protectionism. However I have to point out that Provision 2 is uselsss.
I started with figuring $8/hr is about minumum wage. 10,000% of that is about 16 million dollars a year (figuring 40 hour work weeks). Is this seriously fooling anyone?
Does that mean that a company who hires illegals at $4/hour can only pay his top CEO 8 million a year if they want a tax credit? Oh my! what a restriction!
I am surprised that nobody corrected me. 1.6 million is still outrageous pay to be encouraging. Especially when you consider that it will just encourage these companies to outsource lower wage jobs (which many already do), easily getting by the cap.
I don’t think 10,000% salary gradients actually are anything to encourage. Bump it down to 2-5 thousand percent and I might feel better about it
