10/8/2009--Passed Senate without amendment. (This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.) Expresses the Senate's support for the designation of October 20, 2009, as the National Day on Writing. Encourages participation in the National Gallery of Writing, which is maintained by the National Council of Teachers of English and contains examples of writing by individuals throughout our country. Encourages educational institutions, businesses, community and civic associations, and other organizations to celebrate the writing of their members through individual submissions to the Gallery.
