4/3/2009--Passed Senate without amendment. (This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.) Expresses the sense of the Senate:
(1) supporting the Fifth Summit of the Americas as an effective multilateral forum for the 34 democratically elected heads of state of the region to address shared challenges and foster collaboration throughout the Western Hemisphere; and
(2) that the Summit provides the United States with an opportunity to strengthen its engagement with the countries of the Western Hemisphere.
