Official Summary

1/5/2011--Introduced.Disabled Veterans' Surviving Spouses Home Loans Act - Includes as a veteran, for purposes of eligibility for housing loans guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the surviving spouse of a veteran who at the time of death was in receipt of or entitled to compensation for a service-connected disability rated totally disabling if:
(1) the disability was so rated for 10 or more years preceding death;
(2) the disability was so rated for at least 5 years since the veteran's discharge or release from active duty; or
(3) the veteran was a former prisoner of war who died after September 30, 1999, and the disability was so rated for at least 1 year preceding death. Requires any applicable VA housing loan fee to be collected from such spouse.
