Adoption Attorney Discusses Federal Adoption Tax Credit Set to Expire in 2012

Unless Congress acts, the act will expire this year. There are two bills proposed for approval to extend the tax credit (HR184 and S82). However, if there is not an extension, international adoptions completed in 2013 will receive no tax benefits.
