They used the word killing in the name so you would know it’s a republican bill
Nope, usually it’s the democrats that are the outright violent ones.

Please. Republicans attack people all the time. Personal bias tends to lead people to believe their side is the “good” one, therefore ignoring poor behavior.
Geez… it wasn’t that long ago we had a rabid Glenn Beck fan get into a shootout with the police on his way to try and gun down as many people as he could at the Tides Foundation.
This is not a defense of Democrats, or even an attack on Republicans. The point is, if you’re going to make an argument, don’t make a clearly false one.
Well, from what I’ve seen, the Conservatives attack ideas and the Democrats attack the person.
Democrats ideas and philosophies simply don’t hold up to real debate, which is what Conservatives want. So the Democrats attack the person’s character, families, decisions, etc. and not truthfully either. Look at last weekend’s AZ shooting. Perfect example of Democrats taking advantage of a crisis to spread ugly lies about the Conservatives.
Dear Dankat – you don’t tune in too often, do you? Conservatives have ideas and philosophies? You mean other than fiscal? If you name one, you will surprise even your local Congressman, if he or she is a Republican. They have only said no to all Demoratic ideas, but replaced them with none. DId you listen to Boehner yesterday? They didn’t have to be in a hurry to rewrite the legislation . . . because frankly, they don’t have any intention of replacing it. they just want the power back. Anyway, respectfully . . .
Conservatives attack ideas? So if they repeal the LIHEAP program that means they’re only attacking an ideal, not a collection of society, it’s just our imagination that Low Income Families & Seniors will be harmed if this happens, and it’s just our imagination that those people with pre-existing conditions will be harmed if this were to truly be enacted.
Yea, conservatives don’t attack people, you’re right. It’s just our imagination.
Lets compare then. Who attacks who the most? That is clearly the Democrats who are attacking the Republicans the most. There is not justification and condescention does not change the facts.
You don’t call what the GOP call the Health Care Reform Bill “Obamacare” attacking the person? Please!!! Give me a break! The GOP now stands for “Greed Over Poverty”

How is that a personal attack? Was someone’s name mentioned in that post? The poster was saying that Republican policies are greed for some and poverty for the majority.

Actually, it is common practice to in some way connect a politician’s name to legislation when that politician was instrumental in its passage. It is more often done in a way such as the McCain/Feingold Act.
As to the term “Obamacare” being an attack, the only way that someone in the Democratic party could truly view this as an attack would be if they had a negative view of the bill itself. If they are as fond of it as they claim to be, they should instead be jealous that it is not THEIR name on it!
Right on the money! If a lib opens his/her mouth, you’re about guaranteed a logical fallacy of some sort is forthcoming. Keep the debate alive, because in the end, the truth will out.
You mean kind of like the logic that leads Republicans to claim “less government” but really just want to control aspects of our lives?
Drug laws
anti-abortion laws
anti-sodomy laws
anti-gay marriage laws
Sounds like a lot of government intervention to me.
I think it’s a good to give it a shot. I doubt it will pass but what it will do is give insight into which members of the house and senate are willing to replace this current bill. I want to see a new health care bill with REAL reform that will not cripple the economy.
Well, this does not include REAL reform whatsoever in it, it is a 1-1/2 page piece of nothing that just calls to repeal the original in it’s entirety, so if this does pass, which I truly doubt, the pre-existing clause will be repealed, the ability to insure your children until age 25 will be repealed, the lifetime cap will be re-instated, and you know the GOP will not do one single solitary thing in regards to reforming health care they had 4 years during Clinton admin, and 6 years during Bush and didn’t do anything then, so what makes you think they’ll do anything now?
So go ahead and continue to believe that the GOP is for everyone, they aren’t and never have been, they are only for those who can line their pockets the best.
Well I’d be happy if the bill is repealed. I personally will be harmed by the health care bill because I can not afford to buy health insurance. Hey maybe when this bill is repealed, all the people who were fired from Sallie Mae(remember the bill also put student loans directly under govt control) will be rehired. Oh or maybe AARP which said that they would no longer offer health coverage to their employees because the health care bill raised the price of health insurance too much will be able to give them coverage again.
I can go on actually. Btw republicans put forth multiple proposals they were ignored. Oh and… btw how many lobbyists are the democrats currently in bed with? How many mega corporations? Remember the health care bill puts a LOT of stress on small businesses that can’t possibly afford the mandates set forth, ask most small business owners, they’ll agree. Most of the bills passed by democrats protect two groups, the absolute poorest and the absolute richest. They destroy the middle and upper middle class.

Makes it more affordable? Health insurance and health care costs already have risen because of this bill. Just ask the employees of AARP who lost their health insurance coverage because AARP could no longer afford to pay for it with the increased cost. Think about it “medical device” manufacturers now have to pay a new tax on all devices. How does that cut costs? As for leeching off the rest of us, my family loses a LOT of money to taxes each year. Why don’t the rest of YOU stop leeching off of US?
But it’s ok for the Health Insurance Companies to “leech” off of the consumer, & it’s ok for the Big Oil companies to “leech” off the land and it’s ok for Big Corporations to “leech” off of the taxpayer in tax loopholes & government subsidies.
My earnings have remained stagnant for 12 years now, even a .50 cent an hour increase doesn’t anywhere near make up for the increased cost for heat & utilities, or the cost for gas at the pump. Never mind that food prices have risen sharply as well.
Actually, IF the insurance reform bill did make health insurance more affordable, it would be because of the leeching.
And I cannot afford to pay more in my health insurance premiums to cover your in ability to pay for health insurance. If you do not want to buy health insurance and cannot pay cash for the services rendered at your local hospital or doctors office then don’t go when you are sick, in a car accident, or fall and break your arm. A big part of the problem is people like you. Stop smoking a carton of cigarettes a week and you may be able to afford health insurance….
If you can not afford it YOU will be eligible for a premium subsidy. This is the beauty of the plan it would help 32 million who are currently shut out of the system to get coverage. Republicans are not happy because the affluent ones (those who make more $250,000 would pay an additional 3.8% tax on their investment income. I wonder how much our congressional representative make? Does the tax effect them?
here is a link that explains the healthc are bill…http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/22/your-money/health-insurance/22consumer.html?scp=1&sq=health%20care%20bill&st=Search
Thanks for the link…lays it out well.
Don’t forget how the Republicans did try to bring forth their ideas. Obama would have nothing to do with their ideas. The liberals did this behind closed doors without letting the Republicans take part.
Also, don’t forget that this was about more than providing health care to everyone. It was and always will be about greater government control over our lives. That is why the liberals didn’t care that the bill was so ridiculous and badly done. They got the control and that is what mattered.
You mean when they came together in the bipartisan committee with the President and all they did was lift that 2000+ page bill up and complain not offering anything to solve it? And the president kept asking them to give him REAL proposals with REAL facts?
