What would people be opposing here? It seems like a very simple bill to correct an oversight?
Are people so against letting Netflix do social networking?
Netflix has made plenty of money, prior to it’s screwing with customers this year, with Title 18, Section 2710, intact. No need to change the legislation for the purpose of invading citizens’ privacy and boosting sales. They, Blockbuster, and the other video providers can do plenty of social networking without attaching a viewer’s name to a rental!

This isn’t for the purpose of invading anything. This gives people the RIGHT to give consent digitally. Which we couldn’t do before. If you don’t want to connect to Facebook, share what you’re watching with friends, etc, you don’t have to.
