I’m excited about this. Effectively fixes the questionable parts of the NDAA.

It’s vitally important for this bill to get passed. There are detainee provisions in the NDAA that could be applied to US citizens if clear prohibitive language like this is not added.

The new provision should never have been included in the first place, but the Obama administration folded on the veto. Now we have to clean it up. Hopefully, they won’t pass SOPA. That would get us in an even bigger mess.

Thankfully, someone has already come up with a remedy for the NDAA’s nasty provisions that interfere with the Bill of Rights. I want a whole lot of people to support this bill, and we need to show our support as much as possible until this bill gets passed.

This bill does nothing to remove the claimed authority to indefinitely detain foreign citizens without charges or access to attorneys. The rights granted in the Constitution are inalienable and endowed by our Creator and it is completely abhorrent to be of the opinion that non-Americans do not deserve the same respect for their God-given rights.

That is in the Declaration of Independence which is basically a rant, not law. The Constitution is law.

Also, you mean unalienable, not inalienable. There is a difference. Again, just in case anyone is confused, this is NOT in the Constitution. Too many people mistake the Declaration of Independence for the Constitution. Even politicians do this, and it is simply, for lack of a better word, retarded.

The bill of rights cannot be superseded and it was ruled that any law repugnant to the constitution is null and void. Therefore NDAA sections regarding detainment are null and void.

Let’s call, e-mail and visit our congressmen on this. If SOPA and PIPA are bad enough to call out the calvary, surely indefinite detainment is worth such a call. If this passes America is no longer safe. Hitler, two years before he became a tyrannical dictator, took this power, and said almost the exact same things that Obama has now repeated. To para phrase-I will never use this, it is against our traditional values to use this, but just in case I will accept the power reluctantly-.
Two years later Hitler was anything but reluctant. It was a strong contributing base for his new reign..

I have called the two Senators of Colorado- Sen. Benett and Sen. Udall, as well as Congressman Tipton.
I urge others to call in too, SOPA and PIPA are proof it changes things!
