If a hen needs 216 sq. in. to spread her wings, can you imagine her entire life spent in a space of either 101 or 116 sq. in.? It's like spending your life in a small closet.
This bill is to save the egg industry mon... -

I am writing as your constituent in the 8th Congressional district of Massachusetts. I urge you to support H.R.3798 - Egg Products Inspection Act Amendments of 2012. This bill would establish a national standard requiring farmers to provide larger housing for egg-laying hens, many of which currently suffer from overcrowding. It is supported by the New York Times, the Humane Society of the United States, and the United Egg Producers.
Opponents of this bill may argue that it would hurt farmer... -

I absolutely OPPPOSE this bill. Please, it is enough that we eat these animals. I do not want to be eating my eggs knowing that some helpless animal doesn't have a decent place to live. They should be
able to live in a more natural setting, and I am willing to pay more for
my eggs in order for the farmers to make the needed adjustments
for the birds.
This is just another way for the egg industry to not do anything to make life more humane for these birds. PLEASE, OPPOSE THIS BILL.

I am writing as your constituent in the 5th Congressional district of Oregon. Why, in the name of common sense, would you support a law that will virtually prevent humane-minded small producers, from treating their hens like living, feeling creatures?
This is just another "solution" in search of a problem. Dressed up as a solution to forced starvation and other abuses by commercial egg factories this bill will require cages where no cages no exist.
I pay the premium price for cage... -

Contrary to the proposed notion of assisting animal agriculture, this bill enables the animal rights groups (i.e. HSUS & PETA among many) to gain access and interfere with the continued production of affordable and availa... -
