You disappoint me with that post…

You made you position clear many times here that you though the Democrats could be our saviors. I would never hold that against you because there was a time when I did that myself…

@(sigh) I know damn well that we agree on 99% of the basic principles here; why quibble over labels on this board?

    That is my whole point!

I am trying to make more people understand that the left vs right game is just a way to control them. look at that “bi-partisan” bill that the main stream media somehow missed that the whole future of the internet lies on…

I’m sorry if you disagree with my Libertarian beliefs, but the opposite end of the scale is Hitler, one of the most Authoritarian leaders in history.

Do you think our government should be able to censor the web?…or murder American citizens at will based on some “secret” interpretation of the patriot act the public is not allowed to read?

Just look at the response to Occupy buy so called “law enforcement”.

If that is not an extremely authoritarian government then what is…

Left leaning Libertarians do not support authoritarian Democrats!

Do you agree with any of this nancym?

On this much needed day of rest after the past weeks battles, that feel all too much like actual war to someone that only a few years ago hoped to retire quietly, and his biggest worry would be where to go fishing for the day. Unfortunately my meager savings, that were at least on track to give me a fair financial cushion to spend the rest of my days on social security got wiped out in this so called “great recession”, along with the source of income that was putting 20K into it each year…

Anyways it was a day of reflection for me…

It seems no “official” person is willing to put a official number on the Occupy crowd in NYC. Even the New York Times is saying the 32,500 NYPD number could be over estimated for their own benefit.

Most all sources do agree that it was tens of thousands though….

    Whatever…

  • WasMiddleClass 11/19/2011 8:19pm

What matters is that what started a small group of people a mere two months ago turned into untold numbers, not only all across our nation, but across the word, that decided to stand up and fight against plutocrat rule buy the few “elite”.

They faced well over 4,000 arrests, multiple brutal assaults by “law enforcement”, and when much of the media was saying they were done after their main base on the “ground” in NYC was shut down they put tens of thousands on the NYC streets on short notice, not to mention all the other cities across our land.

The biggest thing I thought about today is the uncountable numbers of people behind those “tens of thousands”, that could not be there on the front lines for various reasons….

I am reminded of the statistic that says well over 90% of people that read online forums never post anything, but they learn…

This is not about “left” vs “right”, it is about the majority of us that have been like a frog in a pot of slowly heating water waking up and jumping out.

I think Sam said it better than I can now,

“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds”

    @nancym

There was a discussion on one site as to where the most millionaires live. The original poster used it against CA at #9.

CT is #3 and FL is #2 :)

Do you feel richer now ;)

I would be interested to know where you think Chris Hedges stands politically. Or Naomi Klein, or Michael Moore, or Noam Chomsky, or George Orwell, or Thomas Paine…

    Oh jeeze girl…

The American libertarian party is conservative libertarian….

Libertarian simply means anti Authoritarian in reality.

We dont have a left, or even central Libertarian party in this country.

Maybe if we did things would be different…

No wonder so much of the word thinks we are crazy when most all our politicians fall into the right authoritarian segment of world politics….

After much research on political labels over the past few years I have decided on “Left Libertarian”, even though I hate labels and boxes.

I dont know much about Dean, but Dennis Kucinich is actually a Left Libertarian, and it is interesting how he and Ron Paul (right libertarian) agree on many things…

    Food for thought…

I think I may have asked this long ago, but I would honestly like to know where you come out on this test.

I have a feeling we would not be all that far apart…

    OK FINE!

I came out a little right of Gandhi on it myself…:)

The funny thing was it was slightly left of center Libertarian for me…

    But not totally anarchist…

  • WasMiddleClass 11/19/2011 10:59pm

I know that test takes some thought……

There we go with that NO VOTE b.s. that will increase as we approach the 2012 reelection of President Obama. Don’t be fooled by the subliminal word association, we know what that got America in Nov 2010, the LOWEST polling for a US Congress in history (9%). Barack Obama inherited 2 WARS and $12 TRILLION in debt from President Bush that no one predicted and the 112th Congress majority republicans and tea partiers haven’t introduced legislation to jumpstart this economy or work with this President because they want these crisis to continue, believing the American people will vote them BACK into their cozy positions once again! VOTE out the majority in the do nothing 112th Congress who are more interested in ending Medicare than ending this Bush Recession. “LESSER OF TWO EVILS = THE DEMOCRATS”
