OpenCongress Summary
Removes the limit on the number of terms one may serve as President by repealing the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Over the past seven congressional sessions, several members of Congress have introduced similar legislation, including Sen. Harry Reid in 1989 ( S.J.Res. 36). As is likely the case in the 112th Congress, the resolutions have never proceeded out of committee. This is a fringe bill that has virtually no chance of becoming law. For more background on why there are bills in Congress like this one that are essentially dead on arrival, see this blog post.Official Summary
