This bill contains a provision that would allow the IRS to order the State Department to refuse to grant, refuse to renew, revoke or restrict the passport of any US citizen which the IRS certifies owes the IRS $50,000 or more in unpaid taxes. There is no requirement that the tax payer be guilty of or even charged with tax evasion, fraud, or any criminal offense – only that the citizen is alleged to owe the IRS back taxes of $50,000 or more.
That is too much control by the State.

Health care in a transportation bill? Illogical as it is, Senate rules allow it. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) proposes an amendment to the S.1813 transportation bill that would allow employers broad exemptions to providing health insurance coverage (for example, contraception) through the Affordable Care Act. See fact sheet at National Women’s Law Center

One Million Women Strong is an online petition drive supporting women’s access to health care.

Thomas Jefferson Quotes
A free people [claim] their rights as derived from the laws of nature, and not as the gift of their chief magistrate.

A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!

A little rebellion now and then is a good thing and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

Educate and inform the whole mass of the people…they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.

Experience has shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. The course of history shows us that as a government grows, liberty decreases.

All the members of the special interest groups that support senate bill 1813 are probably not aware of the attached amendment giving the IRS power to revoke and suspend passports. They are also probably not aware of the increased spending, increased taxes and the fact that all freeways will be changed to toll ways. Someone needs to make them aware of all the problems with this bill and the amendment giving more power to the IRS. I am sure that the members of the special interest groups that support this bill listed on this site will not be happy when they find out all the facts. This bill needs to be defeated and the amendment giving new power to the IRS removed. If this bill becomes law some sneaky politician will be attempting to pass a law that revokes the drivers licenses of American citizens for falling behind on their student loan payments or government backed mortgages and loan payments. Please instruct your representatives to oppose this bill now.
