Official Summary

12/17/2011--Passed Senate amended. Haqqani Network Terrorist Designation Act of 2011 - Requires the Secretary of State to report to Congress on:
(1) whether the Haqqani Network (an Afghan insurgent group based in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of northwest Pakistan) meets the criteria for designation as a foreign terrorist organization; and
(2) which criteria have not been met, if the Secretary determines that the Haqqani Network does not meet such designation. States that nothing in this Act may be construed to infringe upon the sovereignty of Pakistan to combat militant or terrorist groups operating inside its boundaries.
