3/1/2012--Passed Senate without amendment. (This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.) Acknowledges the tremendous contributions of African Americans to the history of the United States and that all people of the United States are recipients of the history given to us by black culture. Recognizes Black History Month as an opportunity to reflect on U.S. history. Encourages learning from the past in order to understand the experiences that have shaped the United States.
