forgiving debt is not fairness, it’s mercy. It isn’t fair at all to the people who lent their money with the promise of getting it back. fairness doesn’t always mean easier, it means keeping the promises you made. Paying back what you said you would. that is fair. the rules can’t change halfway through, that certainly isn’t fair, that’s just a handout.

“forgiving debt is not fairness, it’s mercy.” It is mercy, the bankruptcy law changed in 2005 for what? Who changed the rules? People would knew they could make money from students that didn’t even qualify for the loans. It was an opportunity to make massive amounts of money for people who already have massive amounts of money. So the people you defend are actually the people that cause the “student debt crisis”. Fairness is trying to help people that need it the most. I don’t want your handout! I want to pay my loan, and I have been. Tripling what I borrowed then refusing to work a payment plan out is and should be unconstitutional. So take your handout and shove it back in.
