Rail is more fuel efficient and safe way to transport goods. So why increase weight on trucks? Why not promote more freight to be shipped by Rail instead of trucks.

Our rail system is ineffective because it is so out of date. I am a truck driver and heavy trucks are not safe for our decreped infrastructure, truck drivers or any other highway travelers. This is a bill based on greed alone

It seems so of the Democrats in congress are getting bought of special interest from the trucking companies. I hope they don’t forget we did not vote for them to support trucks.

Trucks waste more fuel and are bad for the environment.

A heavier truck uses more fuel, for anyone environmental group to believe that heavier trucks are somehow “Green” are perhaps lining their pockets with this nonsense. Thise who support this bill are shippers of heavy freight like canned foods, lumber & so forth. They have never drive a loaded truck down a mountain that begins to shift it’s weight. In California for instance, one large soup company that supports this bill is located in an area that has 3 mountain ranges to get out. Smoking tires, tire fires are the norm from trying to control a heavy truck. This is about greed plain & simple. In addition many student trucking fleets handle this freight… another stick on the inexperienced camels back.

Rails are much more safer than trucks.
