Remember the republicans at Election Time.If they Cannot Stand By the Working Men And Women of this Great Country, at a Time of Need, Then Do Not Stand By Them When They Need US, on Election Day.

go to the top of this screen and hit votes- then look at the right hand side of the screen and see who voted- then start at the top and click on your first nay’ sayer…then when that screen comes up go to the right of the screen and click on their email and let them know exactly what creeps/thugs/domestic terrorists/poor leaders/etc…you think they are- surely they’re expecting hate mail for the way they voted….lets give them some….

GW provided more unemployment extensions then oboma has, he extended benefits every time the national rate went over 6.5% and kept extending as long as the rate stayed over 6.5%. So on this issue GW would be a god send for us.

The 6.5% threshhold for keeping extending unemployment benefits is the one Bush policy that I wish would have carried over to the Oboma administration

Maybe you should spend more time improving your financial situation than target shooting?

You’re looking at this all wrong. Extending unemployment benefits extends the rate of unemployment which delays our recovery, which costs our children and grandchildren dearly in terms of debt service (INTEREST on our $14Trillion national debt). Additionally, this bill is not just about unemployment benefits. It an attack on the middle class. For example, there’s a provision in this bill that mandates that every penny of all income coming to a small services business (less that 4 service people) have to pay unemployment tax (on every penny) as well as FICA that everyone else has to pay. We are already paying the 7.5% FICA on every penny. But to have to pay and additional 7.5% on every penny of income when you’re the ONLY employee, is so completely ridiculous and will tremendously hurt small business and the middle class.

I’m against bailing out anyone. That includes the “little guy”. If you actually want to converse about it, wipe the foam from your mouth, pocket the insults, and offer up an intelligent reply.

There is no lesson for me to learn by knowing that you have to rely on the government because you can’t find a job. That is precisely the point I have made, for which I was called ignorant or uneducated by other posters here. Have you exhausted every tool available to you prior to shaking your fist in anger at the government and demanding the support that you want? Or did you just flop your ass down, stick your hand out, and expect the government to maintain your lifestyle for you?

So you advocate a revolution because the government isn’t providing enough for you? Ironic!

2 years of unemployment compensation is unsustainable. People just can’t sit on their butt waiting for their perfect job to come along. Do something, but don’t sit at home and make your resume look like you’r a slacker that feels entitled.

Can you be more specific as to what “clue” I don’t have? Or are you just going to let your flippant remark stand on its own?

I agree..
Both parties are at fault, and for Senator Reid, the wonderful state of NV will make sure he is not re-elected. The kicker is I believe his son is now running for governor in NV. The whole family is delusional and believe they are the best thing to ever happen to NV, with 12%+ unemployment. And the current vote is to stop attacking Arizona for protecting its boarders???
which it will fail. Now it is just pissing in your neighbors yard for spite
regardless if it make sense and its the right thing to do. Anyone who is up for re-election needs to hit the road.

What happened to the American innovative spirit? A Government should be the hand that protects not the hand that feeds.

My opinions are not based on FOX or GOP lip service, as I’m fairly sure that most of them would disagree with me on this issue. You seem to have a liberal, populist view of people who disagree with you. Something tells me that you are the one who is influenced by lip service. Could it be your leftist union leaders? “Progressive” politicians? Marxist presidents?

i don’t know why they just dont extend it to 5 years…

they will be long gone by the time we have to pay for it…

look your kids in the eyes.. they will be stuck with the bill. them and their children… children not even born yet. They will be the ones who will feel the pain and not be able to keep much of what they earn…

but, if we are all good liberals and just stick to the “Not in my back yard” theory.. we’ll all be dead and gone so who gives a crap?

right??

gotta love it!!

we need to keep voting in democrats as much as possible so we can get as many government handouts as we can before we die.. leave it to the suckers to come to pay for it..

lol

stupid repugnicans.. can you believe they actually want to pay for stuff?? lol all we need to do is just run up the debt and print more money… when will they get it??

lol

This bill is supposed to allow the people who are only on Tier I through III the courtesy of remaining on unemployment as long as those who are on Tier IV. It isnt really fair to give most people 99 weeks of benefits, but then cut others off after a few months. They probably aren’t adding a Tier V because they assume that people can find a job after 2 years. Go flip burgers.

The fact that I couldn’t care less about your eduction in economics may come as a shock to your ego. The fact that a compulsory “benefit” forced on the citizenry by the government, controlled by the government, and potentially punted around as political football by the government, only reinforces my opinion that they shouldn’t be in control of such matters. Moreover, it reinforces my opinion that people shouldn’t put their faith in government to “handle” such personal matters for them. It is, again, embarrassing and pathetic.

The current debate…what a joke if the technology is good there is plenty of investment out there. My wife owns a very successful business and it continues to grow by investing what she makes back into it. We pay our taxes ect… just another hand out…stand in line there giving the store away

keep in mind that at least 7 senators are UN-ELECTED…

thanks to the legal “flaw” and “end-around” on the rule of law, the dems can break the filibusters to do whatever they want…

we just need to start pumping out more children to pay for the massive debt..

we need lots of little children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to pay for all of this, so we need to get busy…

UI is a basic form of welfare. It should be tossed out with Social Security, and any other compulsory social program.
