I am a late comer to this issue as I was just forwarded an email alerting me to it. As a gun owner it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know where I stand in regards to this bill. What I would like to comment on is that we have to remember that the government in this country has grown to the level is has by dividing us as a people. The avergae American still doesn’t want to believe the government isn’t always looking out for our best interests. If you try and take a stand and point things out you are labled and people stop listening because we are a nation that loves to put lables on people and once you have gotten a “bad” label you are pretty much done. We are all focusing in on the President because he is the “leader” and to me that is what is being counted on. The president isn’t making policies and enacting changes all by himself. In order to have a government of the people, by the people and for the people we need to come together and stop re-electing the wrong people.

I am also a decedent of one of the signers of the declaration of independence (Huntington) with Indian white and brown ancestry, if you were a student of history you would know that our founding fathers designed our government on the 12 tribes of the American Indians. what was done to the Indians or slaves let alone all the wars fought over the so called civilized religions of the world. You deserve to live in your blind world of hatred and white is civilized Fantasy land…It’s people like you who keep the world from becoming a better place…When I was 17 I was against gun ownership because of something that happened in my life. When I was drafted in the Army(72-75) I didn’t care for guns yet I was will to put my life on the line for two white soldiers including blowing the whistle on the higher up civilized officers… Do you really understand the word CIVILIZED

to those who have said that this is no different from the states recording who has guns, i fear you have not thought this through. as it stands now, if the federal government decided to confiscate all registered guns they would run into a variety of legal difficulties thrown up by many states. if however the gun registry is at the federal level then no such problems will arise.

it is quite obvious that the confiscation of the guns of all law abiding citizens is the end game of this bill, and many of those in government. remember, no politician who abuses his/her power want’s an armed citizenry.

Unfortunately, the government of today is not a all-White, sensible representation of our White founding fathers. It has become a mongrelized idiom that mocks the very principals this nation was founded upon – See MAYFLOWER COMPACT – and attacks the very core WHITE ideas which support civilized society.

As a descendant of one of the signers and with strong familial ties and understanding of our national history, I am appalled (v.) at what has become the governing body. Even though I could not personally accept what spills out of that bubbling melting pot as “cordial” or “acceptable”, I see how that mis-mosh could come up with such asinine legislation, thereby placing law-abiding citizens at risk.

This bill has already been accepted into law as a rider with another (I.R.S.)bill if I am not mistaken, so debate seems pointless.

If there are more bills like this and some get passed, there may be less politicians. Why are some Americans moving in this way? As a new citizen to the USA and proud of it, as an observer I fear a revolt from the people. That is what has caused revolutions throughout modern history. Father God, have mercy on us!

Scary? How about exciting?

The Independent Sovereign States of America vs the United Socialist States of America

I know, it sounds like the USA vs CSA all over again… and on the point that the main reason for the Civil War was state’s rights…I think it would be over fast. I think most of our military will see it for what it’s for and turn on commanders taking command from the traitorous ones.

controlling the people? you are living in paranoid fantasies. Freedom is protected by much more than guns buddy. Also modern day america is leagues away from being an appropriate comparison to Weimar Germany. Try (if you can) to read a few books not written by Glen Beck.

Lets look at the reality of it all. Germany didn’t attack Switzerland because every male over 18 was trained (military) and had a firearm (government issued) in their home. They realized (like we did at the end of WWII) that an invasion of a country that has an armed citizenry is suicidal. I’m sure that everyone that is for this gun-control bill believes that it will limit the criminal possession of firearms by criminals—I have some oceanfront property to sell you in Kansas.
The bill addresses children with guns; in most, if not all states, it is illegal for a person under 21 to own or possess a firearm without adult oversight. If it isn’t working now what makes you think another unenforceable law will do more?
Gun safety is addressed and this is good. Every house with guns should teach their children about gun safety. There is help from the NRA in this area; in fact it is their primary goal. The NRA wants to reduce all gun accidents and violence to ZERO! Need help, give us a call.

Would you care to cite your sources or is this just something you picked up from the anti-gun lobby?
The latter likes to create statistics.
The truth is that restricting gun ownership by law-abiding citizens only allows the non-law-abiding folks to have guns. England has found this out given that they have an ever-growing level of gun violence (not US manufactured guns); the constabulary there now carry handguns and each vehicle has at least one automatic weapon…

hasbeens 03/21/2010 7:25am

gremany in the 1930 started out slowly restricting firearms. if you have a brain you know what happened. this guy seems to not have a brain, be a kraut, or a “yomomma” baby. your choice.
gun control isn’t about guns it’s about people control. it’s much easier to control people who are facing machine guns and are armed with rocks, that it is to control people who are equally well armed.
if you are capable, think about that.

If you combine the populations of Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark and Australia, you’ll get a population roughly the size of the United States. We had around 30,000 gun deaths last year. They had a little over 100. Do you think it’s because Americans are more homicidal by nature? Or do you think it’s because those guys have gun control laws?
