The official rally will start at 3 p.m. but come early and bring your friends and family members. This extreme proposal affects us all.

Wisconsin’s teachers, nurses, snowplow drivers, EMTs and others have agreed to Walker’s pension and health care concessions, which he said would solve the budget challenge. The governor’s continued attacks on working families harm all of us. Come join us as we fight for our basic rights as workers and as Americans.

Join us on a bus to Madison from Chicago, or get driving directions here.

    Bus information

    8 a.m. departure, location TBD

RSVP to Susan Hurley, Chicago Jobs with Justice

This week, Chicago union members traveled in droves to Wisconsin to show their solidarity. The CFL was there and you can see some photos and coverage here.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of history. Join us in Wisconsin or in Chicago to show your solidarity and support for working people.

    In Solidarity,

    Manny Herrmann

    AFL-CIO

Location TBD sure tells people just where these buses are departing from. You ought to do a little more investigating before you post your crap lying non-99er. You don’t even have a phone number or other means posted to contact this person by to find out where the departure location is.

Rally starts at 3pm & the bus leaves at 8 am? Madison is no more than 2&1/2 hours from Chicago, 3 at the most. 4 hours of people freezing their butts off? And BTW, how much for the bus ticket or is it free of charge?

You help no one putting this here. As usual, you & all your rah-rah bullshit crap does no good at all. You post half the information needed.

UNEMPLOYED UNITE LETS JOIN THIS RALLY TO GET THE WORD OUT ON HR 589
AND THE BLIGHT OF THE UNEMPLOYED AS A WHOLE!!!

For two straight weeks, union members and supporters have held a vigil in the Wis state capitol protesting a union-busting budget bill that threatens the bargaining rights of public employees. Across the nation, the showing of solidarity has been overwhelming.

On Saturday, there are 2 ways to show your solidarity:

    1. Come to a solidarity rally in Chicago:

Solidarity rally in Chicago at the Thompson Center.

    Rally information

    Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph

    12–3 p.m.

    RSVP

    2. Come stand with Wisconsin. On Saturday, Feb. 26, tens of thousands of working families and community members will gather in Madison at the Capitol building to demand an end to Gov. Scott Walker’s attacks on the middle class. Come be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime, on-the-ground energy as Wisconsinites take ownership of their democracy

I suggest you behave because you are being reported in many places. I will not mention all your slanderous words last night somewhere else here. Needless to say you did not get a warm welcome in either place.

@patriots: I suggest you go a get a EGO washdown. Yesterday was spent at the AFL-CIO rallies and I share 2 uplifting comments about the experience late in the day because it was rewarding seeing so many ppl fighting for a important cause, too bad you didn’t do the same but we all have our albatrosses don’t we! Everyone knows you like bragging about knowing IPs so maybe you got me mixed up with someone else OR who knows what your twisted motives are. There are too many crisis issues for me to continue to lower myself down to your level so you can have your fun. I wish you well in your strange walk.

If you google Employment Development Department Listing of WARN Notices by Layoff Date – 2011 you will see that the layoffs are increasing and I believe that these layoffs do not include the government layoffs. Congress needs to pass this bill with all the information we post that backs up the fact that the economy is getting worse not better.

    @sclark113: "The Message
The message has to start with a communication of the 99ers’, in Lakoff’s words, “deepest values and complex truths.” The 99ers are a unique political group in that we come from almost all walks of life. Some of us were (and some still are!) die-hard conservatives, others are liberal. Some of us are old, some of us are young. But there are four defining traits that we all share:

    We are Americans.
We were, at one point, fully-contributing members of the economy and society.
All of us are suffering because of the massive transfer of wealth from the middle and lower classes to the wealthiest group.
What we want is not equality of result, it’s equality of opportunity"

  • WasMiddleClass 02/26/2011 12:21pm

The AFL-CIO sure has been a big help to the 99ers over the last year…NOT!

  • WasMiddleClass 02/26/2011 1:14pm

I’m watching this 99er debate now about whether to get involved with the union protests or not.

I seem to agree with ideas from both sides.

I remember that big rally in DC that was promoted as 99ers being one of the main topics. I saw less than one minute by one person spent on the 99ers.

But IF the 99ers could get a large number of people to the unions protests…. The key word seems to be “if” because I have yet to see any feasible logistics plan for that.

I remember everyone trying to tell us we had to vote Democratic to get a tier v. What about the rest of 2010? What exactly did the Democrats REALLY do to help the 99ers besides a little lip service in all that time?

The “no vote” crowd kept getting told we had to vote Democratic. Why? Didn’t the Democrats just give the rich their big tax break while raising taxes on the poor and not allowing tier v to be added to the deal? Don’t they now want to cut what little help is left for the fast growing population of poor?

  • Comm_reply
    WasMiddleClass 02/26/2011 1:15pm

Then we had the Republicans telling us they would focus on JOBS, JOBS, JOBS if they were elected. How are they doing that? By doing what they have been for a long time now, cutting help for 90+% of Americans and giving more to the rich? That is what got us in this situation in the first place.

Have the Democrats come up with a way to pay for the bill, to help all the 99ers ending up homeless on the streets? Or don’t they think all those lives are worth anything?

Don’t the Republicans think millions of American lives in jeopardy are an emergency, and worth anything?

I still see a lot of political name calling going on out there. I don’t think “We The People” was meant only to include those with certain political beliefs.

This war is between the elite, and all the rest of us that are not owned by the elite.

It is sad that so many on the left and the right seemed to be owned now.

  • WasMiddleClass 02/26/2011 2:12pm

Before I post this next article, I want to say that I have a problem with the word “socialism”, because that word gets used to describe everything from the USSR to spending one dime on helping anyone in need.

What do you call the government supporting rich people? Conservative?

Personally I find myself politically on the left side of Libertarianism, as far as political names go…
