    We live in a country where we have the right to make our own decisions. This bill will violate this right. We are not slaves, as you have stated.

    As a constituent in the 4th Congressional district of Oklahoma. I OPPOSE H.R.748 – To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 25 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or as civilian service in a Federal, State, or local government program or with a community-based agency or community-based entity, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, to provide for the registration of women under the Military Selective Service Act, and for other purposes.

    Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness…”; further, Thomas Jefferson accused the King of Great Britain of: “…exciting domestic insurrections amongst us…” This could easily apply to Rep. Charles Rangel and president Obama just as it did to the King of Great Britain. Requiring our children to perform forced national service labor is akin to serfdom.

    I’m not sure this guy has read our 13th Amendment.

    Section 1 states: Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
