We don’t have to build anything if we bring everyone home. We should disband the Department of Energy. Problems solved, no need to have an appropriations bill.

@mraith. I disagree with your statement where you advocate the disbanding of the United States Department of Energy. I found it to be misguided because it leaves you with lots of problems that aren’t simple.

Who will be responsible for the design, production, maintenance and disposal of our nuclear weapons?

What do you propose will keep the national stockpile of our nation’s nuclear weapons firmly and fairly in the hands of the people of the United States rather than under control of the military.

Who will be responsible for overseeing the nation’s cyber-security and security of the nation’s energy infrastructure.

What organization will be responsible for the discovery of foreign nuclear testing?

Who will detect the of smuggling of nuclear material that could be used by rouge states or terrorists?

But hey, if you can solve all those problems, send your congressional leaders and your representatives a line. I bet they’d love to hear your proposal.

I don’t approve of ANY funding for these obviously illegal and fraudulent wars.

I urge Congress to stop spending beyond our means.$726 billion USA , spending on military. With 311 Mil. citizens, supporting it.$99 Billion China, spending on military (2009). With 1.3 B citizens, supporting it.President Dwight Eisenhower famously warned the US about the “military-industrial complex” in his farewell address. (Short read, please find and read) For the warning has come to fruition, for our Federal Government. We have spent 663.2 B last year, that will be a 63 B increase. We could probably pay off a large portion of each states debt with the increase alone to our military spending. Another good article to read is “The War On Waste” (Donald Rumsfeld) “Defense Department Cannot Account For 25% Of Funds — $2.3 Trillion” .Fix the Pentagon bureaucracy and pass Executive Order 11110, would be a great start to turning this country around. Then maybe we could afford such a military. But we can’t afford Social Security, Healthcare, unemployment.(pun intended)

I’m sick of things like don’t ask dont tell being bundled in with the defense budget. I completely disagree with how much we spend on defense (we could spend half and still be far above the rest of the world) but dont ask dont tell needs to go away.
