    -NEW YORK STATE-

    Good Day fellow unemployed citizens,

Please, Please try your best to not confuse yourselves or others. Please research. This bill “S.3507” is not only for states who are above 6% unemployment.

This Bill has not even been “PRINTED” yet as it is still being “Negotiated” as it is still in talks ie: sessions between “House” and “Senate”= “CONGRESS”!

Nothing is carved in stone as of yet. until date the bill has only been introduced. And by the way, I say: “This bill is not only for states who are above 6% unemployment” because this bill “IS” also introduced with “7-weeks” for those who are already under the current “13-week” Emergency Extension. So even if it’s only for “7-Weeks”, the bill will benefit both struggling: “States above 6% & those currently on the 13-Week Emergency Extension Benefits”.

But remember, the bill is not even printed yet, so it has not even reached either floor of the
    House or Senate= “CONGRESSS”!

This “Bill”= S.3507; for all that we know thus far can change and be turned around with more weeks added or vise-versa. Just please all, research and not speculate as this can sometimes cause people to “Despair” ok?…

    BE BLESSED ALL…

    GODSPEED!!!

3507 will never pass before the election. it is Obama’s first attempt a passing legislation and you thing the president is going to sign it. We are better off on something that does not have his name on it like 6867 as a bonus 6867 is for all states 3507 is only for states over 6%.

Obama is constantly talking trash about Bush why would bush sign Obama’s legislation, that would be retarted.

  • Anonymous 09/19/2008 8:20am

OK. Can anyone clear up the confusion with S.3507? Is it only for states 6%+ or not? Or is it 7wks for under and 13wks for over? Thanks. I appreciate it.

    http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/dodd-says-bailout-plan-wont-be-christmas-tree-2008-09-19.html

this is int the works right now it most pass before the next recess it it there financial bailout, if our representatives will stick to there guns and refuse to vote for this action unless it includes the provisions of 6867 or better yet 26 more weeks for everyone. If the Democrats what us to get the extension they can make it happen, if we don’t get the extension it is because they are just blowing smoke and do not want us to get the extension.

I promise this financial bail out bill will be passed by the end of next week, if we do not get our extension it is because the demecrates do not want us to get it.

Sorry, the below post is meant for the dumbass anon who said jackie is oot AGAIN !!!

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/20/washington/19cnd-cong.html

they are working on a financhal bail out package that most pass by the end of next week if the demecrates what us to get an extension they can refuse to sign the bailout bill untill it includes 26 weeks of unemployment for every state.

3507 is a joke it is only for states over 6% and based on who submitted the bill it will never pass before the election.

if the extension is not added to this must legislation that means the democrats do not want you to have it.

doesn’t look like the democrats are going to give us an unemployment extension even though they could easily get it passed and signed by the president next week.

A better tactic to take instead of contacting your politicians about supporting one bill or another is to push the fact that extended unemployment benefits are NEEDED. I have been off since January, we were below 6% in California at the time, now we are in the sevens. I did not even file for benefits for 2 months thinking I would easily find a job, as always before. It is no doubt that we ALL need an extension.

Call and have your voices heard on the fact that extensions are needed, let THEM figure out a bill number to assign to it. Most importantly, CALL, FAX, E-MAIL your Reps and Senators TODAY.

Don’t let the fact that there are 2 bills or 10 bills distract you, the fact is, the whole country needs an extension, the more cages WE rattle, the more we will be heard.

Stay focused and stick together! We are all unemployed, the more politicians we get on board the better, regardless if your state unemployment rate is at 4% or 8%, CALL YOUR REPRESETITAVES, be professional and tell them we need help.

    Dear Friends,

Congressmen Rangel (D-NY) and McDermott (D-WA), and Senator Reed (D-RI), have introduced legislation (S. 3506/H.R.6867) that would go a long way to help the 800,000 workers now scheduled to run out of their limited 13-week extension of unemployment benefits by October 5th. The proposal, which is needed now more than ever given the crashing economy, would extend unemployment benefits in all states by an additional 7 weeks, and provide a further 13 week extension for states with particularly high unemployment (with unemployment rates over 6 percent).

We know how desperately needed these benefits are. Now your Congressmembers and Senators need to hear from you as well. They need to know that real people are suffering in today’s economy, through no fault of their own. They need to know that you, your family, friends and neighbors are counting on them to do the right thing – to support a further extension of benefits and to do so before the Congress leaves for its recess in the next two weeks.

So please call your members of Congress TODAY – 1-800 245-0215 – and ask to speak to your members of Congress, especially in states with high unemployment. Tell them that they should not leave for recess at the end of the month without passing legislation to extend unemployment benefits for the millions of Americans struggling to find jobs in this economy. (NELP thanks the Coalition on Human Needs for allowing us to use their toll free number.)

And please forward this to colleagues, friends and family, asking them to do the same.

    Sincerely and gratefully,

    National Employment Law Project

I agree call your representatives tell them that an unemployment extension for everyone must be added to the wallstreat bailout bill, this is the only bill that is going to pass before our representatives leave next week to start campaigning in other words the last peace of legislation before the election. if we want an extension it must be attached to the wallstreat bailout bill otherewize it will not happen. we should be able to get another 26 weeks out of this one, because the are not going to leave till it passes. The Dems have them by the balls but are they willing to squeeze them a little.

It should not even be necessary. Are the Republicans completely against the citizens? Time to get with the program your economic policies caused the unemployment. I can’t believe we even have to fight for this. Democrats are worthless. This country is BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP WE ARE DROWNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous 09/19/2008 11:15am

They better pass something if the Dems expect such a huge victory in Nov. Because if they don’t half of their support will be homeless and NOT voting for them.
