    Anyone notice that amendments from the lifetime of the founders generally limited government in some way (“Congress shall make no law…”, “The right of the people to be secure in their [possessions]…shall not be violated…”, etc), and only in the last hundred years have we seen amendments that expand the powers of government? I submit to you that government is already entirely too powerful, and any additional powers granted government will exacerbate rather than solve the problems.

    Too much government is not a good thing. Government is necessary. This Joint Resolution only helps to make sure that big money does not cause a disruption in government processes which exist for the people and not business or special interest. In simpler terms this helps so the people have a better chance to have an input into government operation. The Constitution is over 200 years old. So don’t get hung up on changing it. Just make sure the changes are for the better. How can taking big money out of government be a bad thing? Isn’t this kind of an “Ethics Thing”.
