For four years there have bills for this same subject but they never allow them out of committee. Why?
The Social Security Windfall elimination Act allows the Government to steal back money that people worked for. Why is it that the disabled and retired people are the first ones that this government sees fit to take away retiremenrt benifits especially when some only receive 40% to begin with. </content>

As a retired police officer of 30 yrs I ask you to support HR 82 with your active effort to get this unfair law off the books. I have earned way over the 40 required credits yet when i am eligible for SS in 2012 I get penalized. This is so unfair when you consider that it impacts such a limited number of employees in this country. I am not ignorant to the financial issues affecting SS and how this will impact it further. This law should never have been pased to start with and should be eliminated allowing retirees to collect the benefits they EARNED as police officers, teachers, firefighters and many other valuable public service jobs. Thank You
